I can promise you I had no intention of posting anything today, but I am so in LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE with this picture, that I couldn’t help it.

I took it at Dominatrix, in fact you can see its color version in yesterday’s post, and it has a very curious story behind, that I’m going to tell you.

As some of you know, I don’t really like to take pictures at parties, events, etc, etc… because even though they are ok just to have some memories of the events, I don’t think you can get very good artistic results with them, Let’s say it’s not usually the best enviroment to create art, at least for me. That’s mainly the reason why you don’t see me shooting at events.

Dominatrix was, of course, like that but I was attending as one of the photographersm so I had to work. Many models, many photographers, and quite a limited location to shoot in the way I like. It doesn’t make any sense for me to take exactly the same pics that other photographers do, even the same pics other photographers took in exactly the same location last year…  That was not a game for me, so I decided to shoot only the catwalk.

But once again, caltwalk pics tend to be all very similar. It’s not easy to shoot or to be different, there are many people pushing you, smashing you, light conditions are not usually thought for photographers, everything happens really quick, etc, etc… So,  again, it’s not easy to show your style in the pics… or is it? 🙂

I remember standing there thinking «I must prove I am one step ahead of the rest of photographers attending…»  when suddenly my super loved and adored Azwera & Marius dropped to say hi and stayed right beside me. Then I thought «ok Álex, now you must prove you are one step ahead from the rest of photographers and you must take a pic that makes Marius proud of you and who proves you can create ART in these difficult conditions...»

Then Miss Mandy came… I focused on taking a good picture and I shot her… I could see clearly that the pic was amazing as soon as  I looked at the screen of my camera. I realized instantly that was the type of picture I was looking for 🙂

So here you are the final result… even though the color version is very nice, I think the black & white one can blow minds, so here it is. No need to talk about the edition, because I just added some grain and converted the color one to black & white. No tricks…

Puedo prometeros que no tenía intención alguna de escribir hoy, pero estoy tan ENAMORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADO de esta foto, que no he podido evitarlo.

La hice en Dominatrix, de hecho podéis ver su versión en color en la entrada de ayer y tiene una historia un tanto curiosa detrás.

Como ya sabéis algunos, no me gusta hacer fotos en fiestas, eventos, etc, etc… porque aunque están bien para tener un recuerdo, no creo que vayan a pasar a la historia por lo artísticas que sean. Digamos que no es el mejor ambiente para crear arte, por lo menos de la forma que a mí me gusta. Esa es la principal razón por la cual no me véis haciendo fotos por ahí.

Dominatrix fue, naturalmente, así, pero ya que era uno de los fotógrafos escogidos, había que trabajar. Muchas modelos, muchos fotógrafos y un entorno un tanto limitado para campar a mi manera. No me tiene mucho sentido hacer las mismas fotos que están haciendo los demás, incluso las mismas exactamente en las mismas localizaciones que hicieron otros fotógrafos el año pasado… No iba a entrar en ese juego, así que pasé de todo y decidí hacer fotos solo en la pasarela.

Pero de nuevo, la pasarela es más de lo mismo. No es fácil hacer fotos buenas o ser diferente, hay mucha gente empujándote, aplastándote, las luz no suele estar pensada para los fotógrafos, todo sucede muy rápido, etc, etc… Así que, una vez más, no es fácil mostrar tu estilo… o sí? 🙂

Recuerdo que estaba allí de pie pensando «Vamos a demostrar que estoy un paso por delante que el resto de fotógrafos…» cuando de repente mis queridos y adorados  Azwera & Marius aparecieron para saludarme y se quedaron allí a mi lado. Entonces pensé: «ok Álex, ahora tienes que probar que estás un paso adelante que el resto de fotógrafos y tienes que hacer una foto que haga que Marius esté orgulloso de ti y que demuestre que puedes crear ARTE en estas condiciones de mierda...»

Entonces apareció Miss Mandy… Me concentré en hacerle una foto a su altura y disparé… Pude ver claramente que la toma era fantástica en el momento que miré el visor. Inmediatamente me di cuenta de que era la foto que estaba buscando 🙂

Y aquí tenéis el resultado final… aun cuando la versión en color está genial, creo que en blanco y negro es brutal, así que aquí os queda. No hay que hablar casi ni de la edición ya que solo le añadí un poco de grano y la convertí a blanco y negro. Nada de trucos…
