One year ago exactly, right now, I was in Coruña with my best friend María Folgueira celebrating the big success of the inauguration of DEADLYWOOD, my first exhibition.

It´s been already a year, I live in the Netherlands now and many things have changed… so I think it´s a good time to look back and to meditate about my “little monster”.

December 1st 2011, I had the chance of showing my little big project named DEADLYWOOD. A collection of 23 pictures which were visited by more than 500.000 people in just a month. A real success, even though the biggest success for me was to share such a special day with my family, friends and all those loved people who wanted to be by my side in such an important day, helping me to make a dream I thought it was only reserved for artists come true.

One year later I am totally proud of my “creature”, everytime I see the pics I am fascinated by their beauty and even knowing my high level of  requirements, I sincerely believe I did a very good job.

But even though DEADLYWOOD is a place where everything  is beautiful, not everything is perfect… so I must admit I made some mistakes in the selection of some people who appeared in the pics. Time, success and circumstances have shown me that some of the girls I thought they should be a part of my Project didn´t deserve to be a part of it. The beauty of some people was only for the picture… Sad but True.

To finish this entry, I would like to thank once again everybody who were with me that day and to all of those who spent a little bit of their time to visit DEADLYWOOD. Your support is priceless.

And to celebrate this  first anniversary, I will publish again, already translated to English now, the stories behind every picture and who knows if any other surprise.

Hace exactamente un año, en este preciso momento, me encontraba en Coruña con mi mejor amiga María Folgueira celebrando el gran éxito de la inauguración de DEADLYWOOD, mi primera exposición.

Ya ha pasado un año, ahora vivo en Holanda y muchas cosas han cambiado… así que creo que es un buen momento para mirar atrás y reflexionar un poco acerca de mi “pequeño monstruo”.

El 1 de Diciembre del 2011, tuve la ocasión de mostrar mi pequeño gran proyecto DEADLYWOOD. Una colección de 23 fotografías que durante un mes fueron visitadas por mas de 500.000 personas. Un auténtico éxito, aunque para mí el éxito más grande fue poder compartir un día tan especial con mi familia, amigos y toda esa gente querida que quiso estar a mi lado en un día tan importante y que me ayudaron a hacer realidad un sueño que siempre había pensado que estaba reservado solo para los artistas.

Un año después sigo totalmente orgulloso de mi “criatura”, cada vez que veo las fotos quedo deslumbrado por su belleza y aun conociendo mi elevadísimo nivel de exigencia, creo sinceramente que hice un buen trabajo.

Pero aunque DEADLYWOOD es un lugar donde todo es bonito, no todo es perfecto… así que he de reconocer que me equivoqué con la elección de algunas de las personas que aparecen en las fotos. El tiempo, el éxito, y las circunstancias me han demostrado que algunas de las personas que yo creía que tenían que formar parte de mi proyecto, no se merecían estar ahí…  la belleza de determinadas personas se queda únicamente en la fotografía. Triste pero Cierto.

Para terminar esta entrada, me gustaría agradecer una vez más a todas las personas que estuvieron a mi lado ese día y a todas las que dedicaron una pequeña parte de su tiempo a visitar DEADLYWOOD. Vuestro apoyo es impagable.

Y para celebrar este primer aniversario, voy a publicar de nuevo, ya con su traducción al inglés incluida, la historias que hay detrás de cada una de las fotos y quien sabe si alguna sorpresa más.
