I started last week by posting (finally) a picture of my long awaited and epic session with Mari Kitten. I am so proud and happy with the results that I can’t help showing you something else today, so let’s start a new week with her again.

I’ve chosen this picture because (though it is very hard to say) it is possibly my favourite of this photoshoot. A Vampire Kitten showing her fangs with a KILLER expression while resting on a coffin in the living room… a fantastic combination for an EPIC shot. Or well, that’s what I think… I would really include this on in the list of my very best pictures ever.

Not too much to mention, should you like to know more, just read my last post about Mari…

Edition: colours and disimulate a little bit the flashlight reflection in the window. Shit happens, especially when shooting in a place where light can bounce almost everywhere. But I was not ready to lose such an awesome image of one of the craziest ladies (if not the craziest…) I’ve ever known.

Empecé la semana pasada publicando (al fin) una de las fotos de mi tan esperada y épica sesión con Mari Kitten. Estoy tan orgulloso y contento con los resultados que no puedo evitar mostraros also más hoy, así que empecemos una nueva semana de nuevo con ella.

He escogido esta foto porque (aunque es muy difícil de decir) es posiblemente mi favorita de la sesión. Una Kitten Vampira mostrando sus colmillos con una expresión MORTAL mientras reposa sobre un ataud en el salón… una combinación fantástica para una sesión ÉPICA. O bueno, eso es lo que me parece… incluiría esta imagen entre una de mis mejores.

No mucho más que decir, si queréis saber más, echad un vistazo a mi última entrada acerca de Mari…

Edición: los colores y disimular un poco el reflejo del flash en la ventana. Siempre pasa algo, especialmente en lugares donde la luz puede rebotar en cualquier parte… Pero no estaba dispuesto a perder una imagen así de una de las chicas más locas (sino la más) que conozco.

Espero que os guste y Mari, una vez más: un millón de gracias por tu perfección.

This one of the photo shoots that makes me blush the most. Not because of the shoot itself, which is one of my favourites ever with one of my fav girls ever, but for the fact it’s taking me ages to give the final results to my loveliest Mari Kitten. There have been several reasons and issues, like her leaving this country, me being stolen all my stuff, me being super busy… but finally, our fantastic stuff is finally going to see the light, and as usual I think it’s been worth the waiting.

I first heard of Mari Kitten thanks to a doubtful website I was supposed to be working for. She was the model who definitely caught all my attention there, so I really wanted to shoot her. Then I happened to meet her at several parties, liked her a lot, but was really overwhelmed by her attitude. Sooooooo much that I never ever dared to tell her a word. Some people like my good friend Marius Van Der Pol knew my admiration for this crazy lady and insisted on that we should work together… I can’t clearly remember how we finally got properly in touch and decided to work together… but one thing is for sure: destiny did GREAT taking her away from me and this country, because the world is in DANGER when we are together!!!

Shooting this lady was my birthday present… Just 2 days after a very boooooring day, Mari visited me early in the morning to prepare what should be a kick ass shoot. It was going to be her last shoot in her country before moving to the UK… so I was very happy I had that honour, but also feeling the pressure of doing a good job with someone I had been longing for so long.

The shoot place took place in a very amazing place in the very nice city of Schoonhoven. I can’t. I can’t remember Mari’s friend’s name to thank him, but his place was INCREDIBLE. All you see in the pics is REAL… you would probably be surprised there. I think the location was 200% perfect for her, she fitted there in a perfect way…

We shot some latex, some lingerie… and the craziness didn’t stop at any moment with all the crazy stuff we used. This pic is one of my favourites for 3 reasons: 1 – Mari, 2 – The Ballet Boots & 3 – The piano. I had always wanted to take a good picture with a lady and a piano, so what better than one of my fav models wearing ballet boots?? Definitely a dream.

Sometimes I get exactly the images I have in mind, and others I just take nice and good pics, but the results are not 100% what I was looking for. With Mari’s I must say I am 200% happy. I think they are pretty good and attention catchers… not to say she looks AWESOME.

The edition was relatively simple… this pic is 95% close to the original one… what really took me some time was to find the perfect aspect for it, and to keep the original atmosphere of the shoot. But all you see in the pic is 100% real… if you have a nice model and a nice location, the rest should be easy.
A couple of months ago I gave her the surprise of having one of the pics featured in a whole page of Massad Magazine… I just felt the need of somehow compensating the big waiting. Hope the next results really satisfy you my dear. Can’t wait to see you again… and as soon as I finish with these pics, time for new crazy kitty adventures together.

Esta es una de las sesiones que más colorado me ponen. No por la sesión en sí, que es una de mis favoritas con una de mis chicas favoritas, sino por el hecho de que me está llevando siglos darle los resultados finales a mi queridísima Mari Kitten. Han habido diversas razones y problemas, como su marcha del país, todo el material que me robaron, también el estar súper liado… pero por fin, nuestro fantástico material va a ver la luz y como suele suceder, la espera habrá merecido la pena.

La primera vez que escuché hablar de Mari Kitten fue gracias a una dudosa web para la que se supone que estaba trabajando. Ella fue la modelo que más me llamó la atención, así que tenía muchísimas ganas de hacerle fotos. Después de casualidad me la fui encontrando en varias fiestas, me encantó, pero su actitud me desbordaba. Taaaaaaaaaaanto que nunca me atreví a decirle ni pío. Alguna gente como mi buen amigo Marius Van Der Pol conocían mi admiración por ella y me insistían en que teniamos que trabajar juntos… No me acuerdo muy bien como al final conseguimos ponernos en contacto y decidimos trabajar juntos, creo que fue por el chat de facebook… pero una cosa es segura: el destino hizo un BUEN trabajo llevándosela lejos de mí y de este país, porque el mundo está en PELIGRO cuando nos juntamos!!!

Hacerle fotos a esta dama fue mi regalo de cumpleaños… Tan solo 2 días después de un dia muy aburrido, Mari me visitó tempranito por la mañana para lo que tendría que ser una sesión de puta madre. Iba a ser su última sesión en su país antes de mudarse a Inglaterra… así que estaba muy contento de tener el honor, pero también la presión, de hacer un trabajo a la altura de alguien a quien había deseado durante tanto tiempo.

La sesión tuvo lugar en una localización súper sorprendente en la bonita ciudad de Schoonhoven. No me acuerdo del nombre del amigo Mari para darle las gracias, pero su casa era INCREIBLE. Todo lo que véis en las fotos es REAL… probablemente os sorprenderías muchísimo allí. Creo que la localización era perfecta al 200% para ella, encajaba a la perfección.

Hicimos fotos con latex, lencería… y la locura no se detuvo en ningún momento con todas las cosas que utilizamos. Esta es una de mis fotos favoritas por 3 motivos : 1 – Mari, 2 – Las Ballet Boots y 3 – el Piano. Siempre quise hacer una buena foto de una chica con un piano, así que quién mejor que una de mis modelos favoritas con ballet boots?? Definivamente un sueño.

A veces consigo exactamente las imágenes que tengo en mente y otras me quedo solo en buenas fotos, pero los resultados no son al 100% lo que estaba buscando. Con las de Mari he de decir que estoy feliz al 200%. Creo que son bastante buenas y llamativas… sin ni que decir que ella sale TREMENDA.

La edición fue relativamente sencilla… la foto es fiel a la original en un 95%… lo que me llevó tiempo fue encontrar el aspecto perfecto para ell. Pero todo lo que veis en la imagen es real al 100% … cuando tienes una modelo buena y una buena localización, el resto debería de ser fácil.

Hace un par de meses la sorprendí con un una de sus fotos publicada a página entera en la revista Massad… Tenía que de algún modo compensarla por la gran espera. Espero que los resultados te satisfagan cielo, ya me tarda verte de nuevo… y tan pronto como terminemos con estas fotos, momento de mas locuras gatunas juntos.

More new stuff… As you may have already  heard (if not, this is the moment) Naomi Morphine and I are working on a new website www.possiblyaddictive.com which will see the light very soon. I was taking a look at all the stuff we have, and I found this picture which I actually think it’s quite cool.

It was not even taken during a proper photo-shoot, it was just taken for fun in between some crazy ideas we were developing with the charming Meesteres Madieanne in Amsterdam. We spent a couple of days shooting with her, and since neither Naomi nor I can’t be still for a while, I shot her with this highly improvised demon outfit. This picture belongs to a series of not more than 7 pics the most (can’t remember by heart now) but I really really really love it… so it’s very likely you see some of the rest in the future.

There weren’t many tricks for the edition… at least for Naomi. Only the left part of the pic was more or less reconstructed in order to cover some stuff that was disturbing (as I mentioned before, this was not even supposed to be a serious pic) and was ruined the symmetry of the image.

For the rest… not much more to say. Stay tuned because I trust what we are preparing will be possibly addictive.

Más cosas nuevas… Como tal vez ya hayáis oído (sino, este es el momento) Naomi Morphine y yo estamos trabajando en una web nueva www.possiblyaddictive.com que verá la luz dentro de muy poco. Estaba echando un vistazo al material del que disponemos y encontré esta foto, que creo que está bastante guay.

No fue hecha nisiquiera durante una sesión propiamente dicha, la hice por hacer en medio de unas ideas que estábamos desarrollando con la encantadora Meesteres Madieanne en Amsterdam. Pasamos un par de días haciendo fotos con ella y como ni Naomi ni yo nos podemos estar quietos, le hice unas fotos altamente improvisadas con ese atuendo de diablesa. La foto pertenece a una serie de no más de 7 imágenes como mucho (no me acuerdo ahora de memoria) pero de verdad verdad verdad que me encanta… así que es possible que veáis alguna de las otras en el futuro.

No hubo demasiados trucos para la edición… al menos para Naomi. Sólo la parte de la izquierda de la foto fue más o menos reconstruida para ocultar material que molestaba (como mencioné anteriormente, no se suponía que esta fuese a ser una foto seria) y que rompía la simetría de la imagen.

Del resto… no mucho más que decir. Estad atentos porque confío en que  lo que estamos preparando va a ser posiblemente adictivo.

DUTCH DAME & PUSSY GALORE

Today’s pic comes straight from a very successful shoot I had with the lovely Dutch Dame & Pussy Galore back in February… in fact it was my first shoot of 2014. For different reasons it took me a while (well, it’s taking me a while because I haven’t finished yet…) to edit all the stuff. Those are the “problems” arising when a shoot goes well and you get many good things.

I’ve talked several times about this shoot, so I am not going to bore you once again with the same words. Picture taken in a very nice penthouse in Amsterdam, the 2 models mentioned before, latex courtesy of Burning Heart Latex, nice make up by the lovely Inge Eichhorn, technical assistance & support by Ceno Bite & Bob Roos (no selfie fever that day… I’m sad), shooting for several hours… very looooong and exhausting day, but some nice results in the end.

Maybe this picture is not the most spectacular of the set, but I really like it… I can’t tell exactly the reason why… but it brings to my mind the idea of a magazine cover, or of a flyer, a card… I like it a lot.

Edition: getting rid of the latex wrinkles, fix minor imperfections… pffff… really boring stuff, not really interesting at all. Probably the most important thing I did was to increase the saturation, especially from Marilyn’s pic in the back. It was a little bit greyish… and the pic required it to be more “alive”.

La foto de hoy viene directamente de una sesión muy exitosa que tuve con las encantadoras Dutch Dame y Pussy Galore allá por febrero… de hecho fue la primera del 2014. Por distintos motivos, me ha llevado un poco (bien, me está llevando, porque todavía no he terminado…) editar todo el material. Esos son los “problemas” que sugen cuando una sesión va bien y consigues bastantes cosas buenas.

Ya he hablado varias veces de esta sesión, así que no voy a aburriros con las mismas palabras de siempre. Fotografía tomada en un ático de Amsterdam, las 2 modelos mencionadas anteriormente, látex cortesía de Burning Heart Latex, maquillaje de la encantadora Inge Eichhorn, asistencia técnica y apoyo moral por parte de Ceno Bite y Bob Roos (no hubo la fiebre del selfie ese día… estoy triste), currando unas cuaaaaantas horas… un día muy largo y agotador, pero con buenos resultados al final.
Puede que esta no sea la foto más espectacular del set, pero me gusta mucho… No sé muy bien por que… pero me trae a la cabeza la idea de una revista, o un flyer, o una tarjeta… me encanta.

Edición: deshacerme de pliegues del látex, arreglar imperfecciones menores… pfff… cosas realmente aburridas, nada interesantes. Tal vez lo más interesante fue subir la saturación, especialmente la del mural de Marilyn en el fondo. Era un tanto grisáceo y la foto pedía que estuviese un poco más “vivo”.

Last weekend Naomi Morphine & I visited our lovely friends Erik & Meesteres Madieanne in Amsterdam to continue shooting stuff for our future website. The idea was basically to have lots of fun and to shoot some “crazy shit” in company of good people…

What was initially going to be one day turned finally into 2, so you can imagine fun never stopped. I shot Naomi & Madieanne in very crazy outfits and situations, counting with such an exceptional assistant as Erik whom I must really thank for his hard job helping me and for all the funny making off pics.

What I am showing you is just a teaser of what happened there… Naomi proved the thirsty kitty she can be, and my lovely friend Meesteres Madieanne was so kind to provide her some milk… The rest you will have to wait to see (or imagine in your naughty minds) in the meantime…. Also, I am very proud and happy that by coincidence I have, somehow, my loved, desired, admired and adored American girlfriend Kayla Lael from Vengeance Designs in ths pic, because she is the responsible of the very lovely cat hood. (Kayla, we need another one!!!!)

The edition of the pic is inspired in an 80% in a preliminary edit Erik did just for fun, with Naomi’s help who wanted a very black & white contrasted & pic. So my final version is mostly Erik’s but with some minor changes.

Naomi & I would really like to thank Erik & Meesteres Madieanne for their infinite kindness to have us making a big mess and big fun there. We’ll be back!

El fin de semana Naomi Morphine y yo visitamos a nuestros queridos amigos Erik y Meesteres Madieanne en Amsterdam para seguir creando material para nuestra futura web. La idea era básicamente pasarlo en grande y hacer unas cuantas locuras en compañía de buena gente.
Lo que iba a ser inicialmente un día, al final fueron dos, así que podéis imaginar que la diversion no cesó en ningún momento. Hice fotos a Naomi y Madieanne en unos atuendos y situaciones súper locas, contando con un asistente de excepción como Erik a quien realmente he de agradecer su trabajo duro ayudándome y haciendo fotos del making off.

Lo que os muestro es solo un caramelito de lo allí sucedido … Naomi demostró la gatita sedienta que puede ser y mi querida amiga Meesteres Madieanne fue lo suficientemente amable para darle un poco de leche… El resto tendréis que esperar (o imaginarlo en vuestras mentes sucias). Además estoy muy orgulloso y contento de contar por casualidad con mi amada, deseada, admirada y adorada americana Kayla Lael de Vengeance Designs en la foto, ya que ella es la creadora de la preciosísima mascara de gatita. (Kayla, necesitamos otra!!!!)

La edición está inspirada en un 80% en una edición preliminar de prueba que hizo Erik, con la ayuda de Naomi quien quería una imagen en blanco y negro muy contrastada. Así que mi version final es principalmente la de Erik pero con ligeras modificaciones.

A Naomi y a mi nos gustaría agradecer a Erik y a Meesteres Madieanne su infinita generosidad por habernos acogido allí y por lo parda que la liamos. Volveremos!

Y para todos vosotros, no olvidéis que podéis alquilar / visitor el BRUTAL estudio de Meesteres Madieanne’s para jugar, hacer fotos o cualquier cosa que tengáis en mente… es impresionante y no os vais a arrepentir nunca. Así que no dudéis en echar un vistazo aquí…

Y para terminar por hoy, solo decir que la página de facebook de DEADLYWOOD ha alcanzado los 1002 seguidores. Al igual que hice cuando llegó a los 500, me gustaría agraceder a todos los que la han gustado porque como dije en aquella ocasión creo que son gente que a la que realmente le gusta lo que hago. Quiero decir con ello que… no son gente que le haya dado al “me gusta” porque los haya estado presionando para tener 7342345543 “me gusta” (que no tengo…). I’ve been working like crazy in many different things lately and there is too much stuff to show you. It is not easy to decide what to show, because I am extremely happy with all the pictures I edited lately. I’ve been working on pictures of gorgeous ladies like Gwenn, Meesteres Madieanne, Irresistible Iris, PussyGalore, Ruby De La Porté… and names like Onna Sakura ,Sugarfairy, Mari Katze (don’t kill me dear!), are about to be shown soon, just like my nice bunch of Dominatrix’s pictures.

But there is someone I really feel the urge of showing her pics… my super sweet and beautiful Didi, more known internationally like Dutch Dame. We have worked together quite a lot lately and it is ironic I haven’t shown you anything yet.

We shot together for Westward Bound and www.dutchdame.com, with KimOnArt for www.ropemarks.com, also with PussyGalore for Burning Heart Latex, then for www.dutchdame.com again wearing some Inner Sanctum designs… So there are too many beautiful pics to come soon. Some of the pics are already available in those sites, but I will show you something absolutely brand new today before it is officially published… Didi for Burning Heart Latex.

If there is something I like about Didi is how extremely is to shoot her… it makes no difference how, when… she always gives you an awesome photography in return. And her pictures are already perfect without any type of edition, that’s something I really love and which saves me a lot of time. I can edit 20 of Didi’s pics in the same time than 1 of any other model.

Back to the pic I am showing you, it was taken in a very nice Amsterdam penthouse the morning after of a big hell of a party while Inge Eichhorn, our wonderful make up artist for the day, was doing PussyGalore’s make up. We shot for 10 minutes and too many nice good results came to scene. You’ll be able to see more pictures of that photo shoot soon in www.dutchdame.com and probably on Burning Heart Latex’s site very soon.

All the edition of this pics is summarized in increasing Marilyn’s saturation from turning the background from a semi boring grey to a more interesting blue. Fixing a couple of things in the latex, and pic ready in no more than 10 minutes.

Estos días he estado trabajando como un negro en un montón de cosas diferentes así que hay mucho que mostraros. No es fácil decidir que enseñar porque estoy muy contento con todas las fotografías que he editado recientemente. He estrado metido en cosas de chicas alucinantes como Gwenn, Meesteres Madieanne, Irresistible Iris, PussyGalore, Ruby De La Porté… y nombres como Onna Sakura ,Sugarfairy, Mari Katze (no me mates cielo!) están al caer, al igual que mis fotos de Dominatrix.

 Pero si de alguien me apetece mostrar cosas es de mi querida y preciosa Didi, más conocida internacionalmente como Dutch Dame. Hemos trabajado bastante últimamente y es bastante irónico que todavía no os haya mostrado nada.

Hicimos fotos para Westward Bound y www.dutchdame.com, con KimOnArt para www.ropemarks.com, también con PussyGalore para Burning Heart Latex, después para www.dutchdame.com con diseños de Inner Sanctum. Así que hay cosas muy buenas por ver muy pronto. Algunas de esas fotos ya están disponibles en esas páginas, pero os voy a mostrar algo totalmente nuevo antes de que sea publicado oficialmente… Didi para Burning Heart Latex.

Si hay algo que me encanta de Didi es lo extremadamente fácil que es hacerle fotos … no importa como, cuando… siempre te regala una fotografía fantástica. Y las fotos ya son perfectas sin ningún tipo de edición, algo que me encanta y que me ahorra mucho tiempo. Puedo editar 20 fotos de Didi en el mismo tiempo que edito una de cualquier otra modelo.

Volviendo a la foto, fue tomada en un ático muy chulo de Amsterdam la mañana siguiente a una fiesta loca mientras Inge Eichhorn, nuestra fantástica maquilladora ese día, se ocupaba del maquillaje de PussyGalore. Trabajamos 10 minutos y sacamos un montón de cosas en limpio. Ya veréis más fotos de esa sesión muy pronto en www.dutchdame.com y probablemente en la página de Burning Heart Latex.

Toda la edición de esta foto pasó por subir la saturación del fondo semi gris y aburrido de Marilyn a un azul más interesante. Arreglar un par de cosillas en el látex, y foto terminada en no más de 10 minutos.

Y para acabar, momento de dar las gracias a todas las personas implicadas en esta imagen, especialmente a la encantadora Mirja de Burning Heart Latex  por habernos suministrado los conjuntos y a Inge por su fantástica aportación en el maquillaje.

I am sure you already know it, simply because… is there anyone in this country who doesn’t know MISBEHAVE yet???.

A new edition of one of the hottest parties in Amsterdam is about to happen next Friday 28th and I am extremely happy to have contributed to it (again) with the suggestive flyer picture.

Most of my old time followers will already know this image… it is one of the pics included in my exhibition DEADLYWOOD and features my crazy, adored and tattooed LOLA PURO VENENO. Should you be interested in the story behind it, you can read a little bit more HERE.

Estoy seguro de que ya lo sabéis, principalmente porque… hay alguien en este país que no conozca todavía MISBEHAVE???.

Una nueva edición de una de las fiestas más calientes de Amsterdam está a punto de suceder el próximo Viernes 28 y estoy extremadamente contento de haber contribuido a ella (de nuevo) con la sugerente foto del flyer.

La mayor parte de mis seguidores de hace tiempo ya conocerán esta imagen… es una de las incluidas en mi exposición DEADLYWOOD y muestra a mi alocada, adorada y tatuada LOLA PURO VENENO. Si tenéis algún interés en la historia que hay tras ella, podéis leerla AQUÍ.

It always feels great to write about someone you really appreciate and that is today’s case. Sugarfairy is one of the super best friends that photography has given me, and it is always fantastic to meet her and, of course, to shoot her.

I am not sure I’ve already told you the way I met her, which was probably what built the strong link that join us, but I am not going to tell you the whole story in this post. Maybe someday.

I had the chance of shooting again my sweet tiny little diva at Dominatrix last month, and what can I say that you can’t see in the pics? Once again she looks SUGARLICIOUS, and not only in these pics but also in the ones that are coming.

Sugarfairy‘s shoot was absolutely crazy. We didn’t have much time and we had 2 beautiful latex outfits (and the sweetest model ever). And once again we had to work in an hotel, as we had previously happened in Essen in the beginning of this year. We tried to find a ‘more or less’ interesting spot and we shot against the clock, we barely had time to breath…

This time we counted on Marquis Magazine‘s official Make Up Artist, my sweet friend Angi Delrey, who was in charge of making Sugarfairy‘s beauty shine. No need to say she made it!. So dearest Angi, thanks a lot once again! Hope to see you soon.

The edition of the pics has been based especially on 2 things: fixing the typical things when someone shoots latex, and trying to find a nice appearance for the colors. The pictures looked too normal to me, since the location was too normak, so I tried to give the pics a different touch just by playing with the curves. These are the results.

That’s all folks… enjoy the weekend and Sugarweetie, we’re gonna rock even more next year. I know someone who is going to look even more amazing 🙂

Siempre sienta muy bien escribir acerca de alguien a quien realmente aprecias y ese es el caso de hoy. Sugarfairy es una de las mejores amigas que me ha brindado la fotografía, y siempre es fantástico poder verla y, naturalmente, hacerle fotos.

No estoy seguro de si os he contado como nos conocimos, probablemente eso es lo que haya creado un vínculo tan fuerte entre nosotros, pero no voy a contaros toda la historia hoy. Tal vez algún día.

Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar de nuevo con la diva pitufina el mes pasado en Dominatrix, y qué puedo deciros que no veáis en las fotos? Una vez más estaba DELICIOSA, y no solo en éstas, sino en las que están por venir.

La sesión con Sugarfairy fue una locura. Apenas teníamos tiempo y contábamos con dos conjuntos de latex brutales (y la modelo meas dulce, por supuesto!). Y otra vez teníamos que trabajar en un hotel, al igual que había sucedido en Essen a principios de año. Intentamos de localizar un lugar «más o menos» interesante y nos pusimos a trabajar contra el reloj. No tuvimos tiempo ni a respirar…

Esta vez contamos con la maqullladora oficial de la Marquis Magazine , mi dulce amiga Angi Delrey, que se encargó de hacer que la belleza de Sugarfairy brillase. Ni que decir hay que lo consiguió!. Así que queridísima Angi, muchas gracias de nuevo! Espero volver a verte pronto.

La edición de las imagenes está basada principálmente en 2 cosas: arreglar los típicos detalles de cuando se fotografía látex, y buscar un aspecto interesante para los colores. Las fotos me parecían demasiado normales puesto que la localización era de lo más normal, así que traté de darles un toque diferente jugando con las curvas. Estos son los resultados.

Esto es todo amigos… disfrutad del fin de semana y Sugarweetie, vamos a liarla todavía mucho más el año próximo. Sé de alguien que va a estar todavía más increible 🙂

Not every picture keeps a wonderful story… and the one I´m showing you today is a very good example. It was taken in December 2011 to be part of an article of ‘Sustansia’ a Spanish magazine, but this picture never made it in the end.

Rakel, the girl is the picture, is a good example of what a model should never be. We had worked previously in the past but she is the typical case of girl with no patience (who eats yours) and who tries you make her look VERY different than she is in the pictures, trying to convince you to change her as MUCH as possible. And that´s something that goes totally against my principle, so let´s say in a polite way that we had our differences. She is one of the models I would never work with again… That makes me sad, because this was a very special shoot in a very special location: an abandoned pencil´s factory ‘Hispania’ in Ferrol, very close to my hometown.

This factory was one of the most beautiful Ferrol´s pieces of history, and it was demolished not much later after I shot there. A real shame with politicians not listening to the people who were contrary to its demolishion. I had already taken hundreds of pics in that beautiful building several times, but I had never shot anyone there.

That´s why this pic makes me two times sad, because of the girl and because this unique place no longer exist 😦

Going back to the picture, I can swear it has been barely edited… I was the first one surprised when I saw it in my computer, but I didn´t have to do anything to it. And of course, I DIDN´T touch Rakel… Rakel, the spot, the light, the colours… everything was perfect in that shot, it has always looked like a painting to me more than a pic.

I never post pictures which bring bad memories to me, but this one is kinda special… I like it a lot and even though I´m not in good terms with Rakel anymore, this wonderful place deserves a humble homage from my side. I can proudly say this pic was taken at ‘Hispania’.

Hispania – Long Gone Before Daylight

No todas las fotos tienen una historia bonita detrás  y esta que os muestro hoy es un buen ejemplo. La saqué en Diciembre del 2011 para formar parte de un reportaje para la revista «Sustansia», aunque al final esta foto nunca llegó a ser publicada.

Rakel, la chica de la foto, es un buen ejemplo de lo que una modelo no debería ser nunca. Habíamos trabajado anteriormente, pero es el típico caso de chica sin paciencia (que agota la tuya) y que trata que la dejes en la foto MUY diferente a lo que realmente es, intentando convencerte de que la cambies TODO lo posible. Y eso es algo que va completamente en contra de mis principios, así que digamos de una forma educada que tuvimos nuestras diferencias. Es una de las modelos con las que no volvería a trabajar nunca más… Me da pena, porque esa sesión fue muy especial por lo especial de la localización: una antigua fábrica abandonada de lápices «Hispania» en Ferrol, muy cerca de donde yo nací.

Esta fábrica era uno de los trocitos más bonitos de histria de Ferrol, fue demolida poco después de hacer yo las fotos allí. Una auténtica pena, con los políticos haciendo oidos sordos del pueblo totalmente contrario a su desaparición. Había fotografiado  ese edificio tan bonito muchísimas veces, pero nunca le había hecho fotos a nadie allí…

Por eso esta foto me entristece por dos motivos, por la chica y porque ese lugar tan único ya no existe.

Volviendo a la imagen, puedo jurar que apenas ha sido editada… Fui el primer sorprendido cuando la vi en mi ordenador, porque no tenía que hacerle nada. Y por supuesto, NO toqué a Rakel… Rakel, la localización, la luz los colores… todo era tan perfecto que siempre me ha parecido un dibujo más que una foto.

Nunca publico fotos que me traen malos recuerdos, pero ésta es bastante especial… Me gusta muchísimo y aunque ya no me llevo con Rakel, este lugar tan maravilloso se merece un humilde homenaje por mi parte: podré decir orgulloso que esta foto fue tomada en «Hispania».

Pasadlo bien e «Hispania», descansa en paz…

Hi Deadlywoodians!!! It´s been some time since I don´t write an entry properly, basically because of my holidays and of other issues which prevented me from having time to edit pictures. But I am back and with new stuff…

Even though I didn´t have any intention of shooting more than 2 people I really felt like during my holidays, I finally found myself shooting here and there, and I can tell I shot more people in barely 3 weeks than in the rest of the year.

I´ll start by introducing Jenn. Jenn caught my attention in Madrid many years ago, in a time of crazy partying at Supersonic club. She was the beautiful girl in the flyers and I remember the fact of being two lonely people from the North lost in Madrid turned us into flesh & blood. We became super super super friends, but distance, time & work never had any mercy so I couldn´t shoot her…  until last month!!!! But it´s better late than never.

Jenn & I took these pictures during our holidays; we spent a lot of time together so we could arrange several shoots in different spots… One of the locations was some kind of abandoned & contaminated city, Chernobyl style… The place was really huge (more than 200.000 m2), impressive, devastated and, of course, highly contaminated with arsenic, mercury, nitrates, heavy metals and more stuff we prefer not to know. And not only we worked there for a day, but also we went back one week later to shoot in a very cool tower we had missed. Typical Álex.

These three pics are just a little preview of what we did there. No need to waste too much time talking about the editing process because the pics are quite close to the original RAWs. Just a few adjustments with Lightroom and that´s all.

Hola Deadlywoodianos!!! Hace tiempo que no escribo una entrada como Dios manda, básicamente debido a mis vacaciones y otras cosas que me impidieron disponer de tiempo para editar fotos. Pero ya estoy de vuelta y con material nuevo…

Aun cuando no tenía más intención que hacerle fotos a dos personas a las que me apetecía muchísimo durante las vacaciones, al final me encontré de aquí para allá haciendo fotos a un montón de gente, y puedo deciros que hice más en tres semanas de las que había hecho el resto del año.

Voy a empezar presentándoos a Jenn. Jenn llamó mi atención en Madrid hace muchos años, en una época de fiestas y locura en el Supersonic. Era la buenorra que aparecía en los flyers, y recuerdo que el hecho de ser dos personas del norte perdidas en Madrid nos convirtió en uña y carne. Nos hicimos súper súper súper amigos, pero el tiempo, la distancia y el trabajo nunca tuvieron piedad de nosotros,  así que no pudimos trabajar… hasta el mes pasado!!!! Pero es mejor tarde que nunca.

Jenn y yo hicimos estas fotos durante nuestras vacaciones; pasamos mucho tiempo juntos así que pudimos organizar varias sesiones en sitios distintos… Uno de ellos fue una especie de ciudad abandonada y contaminada, al  más puro estilo Chernobyl… El lugar era realmente enorme (más de 200.000 m2), impresionante, devastado y, naturalmente, altamente contaminado con arsénico, mercurio, nitratos, metales pesados y más cosas que preferimos no saber. Y no solo trabajamos ahí un día, sino que volvimos una semana más tarde para hacer fotos en una torre que nos habíamos perdido. Típico de Álex.

Estas tres imágenes  son tan solo una pequeña muestra de lo que hicimos allí. No hace falta perder mucho tiempo hablando de la edición porque las fotos son bastante fieles a los RAWs originales. Solo unos cuantos ajustes en Lightroom y ya está.
