There was a time when I used to LOVE Naomi Campbell. Now I love BANANA QUEEN…. I guess the reasons are more than obvious.

Shot originally for promoting the amazing Cho Kawaii Latex a couple of weeks ago, I agree it was quite CRUEL to sacrify all its Cho Kawaii colour, but I’m happy with the final result.

Processing: Colour adjustment in lightrooom, cleaning the latex… and destroying hours of colour adjustments by converting everything to this beautiful tone. Just minor stuff… if you like it, blame it on the banana!

More to come soon… this has just begun.

Hubo un tiempo en el que me gustaba Naomi Campbell. Ahora me gusta BANANA QUEEN… Creo que las razones son más que obvias.

Hecha originalmente para promocionar el brillante Cho Kawaii Latex hace un par de semanas, admito que fue un poco CRUEL sacrificar todo su colorido tan Cho Kawaii, pero estoy contento con el resultado final.

Procesado: Ajustes de color en lightroom, limpieza del latex… y destrucción de horas de ajustes de color al pasar todo a este tono tan molón. Sólo cosas menores… Si os gusta, culpad a la banana!

Pronto más… esto no ha hecho más que comenzar.

I told you a few weeks ago that I had shot a guy… Well, as most of you may know I am not precisely known by shooting men, my male cv is strictly reduced to 4 guys so far. The first one was Julian in a fashion workshop, the second was the very Mansoniac  Mechanical Animal SirAngelo, third one El Gran Wyoming, the most famous tv showman in Spain (my  fucking idol!!!!) and last but not least Eric Starchild.

I met Eric in Essen when I attended to the Fetish Evolution Weekend to shoot Bibiana Atada. Eric was there with her and I immediately knew I had to shoot him.  People always ask me why I don’t shoot men… Taking a look at my work, the reasons are quite clear I think, but it is not 100% true I don’t shoot them. It’s just that I need to find someone fascinating enough to feel the need of capture him in a picture. It’s always been like that: with the exception of Julian where didn’t have anything to do with his selection. And obviously, why should I waste my time shooting guys when there are so many cute girls out there??

Eric is a very impressive L.A. dude… and you’ll understand the reason I shot him as soon as you see the pictures. The photoshoot was reduced to barely 10 minutes because of 2 reasons: first, I had to start shooting Bibiana and second, I knew perfectly the pictures I needed.

I am really happy Eric decided to work with me, because he was the target of every photographer there, and as far as I know, and I know it 200% sure, he only wanted to be shot by me.

The pictures didn’t need any type of special processing. Shooting a guy allows you to forget to focus your attention on fixing his skin (unless you want to add a gayish style to his appearance – which was not the case). So the retouch was basically aimed at getting an impressive black and white and at some dodging and burning here and there in order to emphasize some of his tattoos…  Right now, I am quite satisfied with the results because they match the initial idea I had in mind for the pics, so that’s very comforting.

From DEADLYWOOD and to put an end to today’s post, I would like to thank Eric for his kindness and friendship… I hope to see you very soon,  I haven’t grown up lately, so I promise you I will have to use a chair once again for our next pic together…

Os conté hace unas semanas que había hecho fotos a un chico… Bueno, como ya sabéis la mayoría, no soy particularmente conocido por hacer fotos a hombres, mi curriculum masculino queda estrictamente reducido a 4 tíos hasta ahora. El primero fue Julián durante un taller de moda, el segundo fue el  Mechanical Animal Mansoniano  SirAngelo, el tercero El Gran Wyoming, el showman televisivo mas famoso de España (el puto amo!!!!) y por ultimo, Eric Starchild.

Conocí a Eric en Essen cuando asistí al Fetish Evolution Weekend para hacerle fotos a Bibiana Atada. Eric estaba con ella y supe que tenia que retratarlo.  La gente siempre me pregunta por que no hago fotos a chicos… Echándole un vistazo a mi trabajo, creo que las razones son muy obvias, pero no es cierto al 100% que no les  haga fotos. Es solo que tengo que encontrar algo que me incite a sentir la necesidad de capturarlo en una  fotografía. Siempre ha sido así, con la excepción de Julián en cuya selección no tuve nada que ver. Y obviamente, por que iba a malgastar mi tiempo  haciendo fotos a chicos cuando hay tantas chicas monas por ahí??

Eric es un tipo de L.A. muy impresionante… y vais a comprender el motivo por el que le hice fotos tan pronto las veáis. La sesión se redujo a sólo 10 minutos por dos razones:  primero que tenia que empezar con Bibiana y segunda, sabia perfectamente las fotos que necesitaba.

Estoy muy contento de que Eric decidiese trabajar conmigo, ya que era el blanco de todos los fotógrafos allí presentes, y hasta donde yo se, y lo se con una seguridad del 200%, el solo quería hacer fotos conmigo.

Las fotos no precisaron ningún tipo de procesado especial. Hacerle fotos a chicos te permite olvidarte de centrar la atención en arreglar la piel (a no ser que quieras darle un toque gay a su apariencia – que no era el caso). Así que el retoque se centro en conseguir un blanco y negro potente y en un poco de dodge and burn para enfatizar algunos de sus tatuajes…  Ahora mismo estoy muy satisfecho con los resultados porque coinciden bastante con la idea inicial que tenia para  las fotos, lo cual es muy reconfortante.

Desde DEADLYWOOD y para finalizar la entrada de hoy, me gustaría darle las gracias a Eric por su amabilidad y amistad… Espero verte muy pronto, no he crecido últimamente así que te prometo  que para nuestra próxima foto juntos, tendré que seguir usando una silla …

It’s been pretty quiet in the place where everything’s beautiful lately. Summer’s finally here, almost everyone is enjoying holidays and Álex’s been quite lazy to shoot… Just a couple of photo shoots in London and two more in the Netherlands and that’s all, … working mostly on the stuff I have  in my vaults.

But something really big has happened, and I would like to share my joy with you. I’ve finally found the model which DEADLYWOOD needed in order to become its official DOLL and guest star of my future shoots. I am really proud to introduce you to DEADLYWOOD’s DEADLY DOLL (DDD): SYNESTHESIA.

SYNESTHESIA is a young new model from Israel who is been living in the Netherlands for the last 9 years… She is cute, sexy, beautiful, attractive, versatile and holds a special kind of magic which caught my attention from the very first time I saw her a couple of months ago.

I guess I will never forget the way I met her, I will probably tell you someday… All I can say is I was hitting the Cho Kawaii Latex Headquarters to join my amazing Chaneequa to party and suddenly I got involved in an unexpected latex photoshoot which resulted in KILLER pics with this tiny smurf…

This is the beginning of something DEADLYCIOUS, I am sure… so un the meantime, please, enjoy the new girl onboard.

Las cosas han estado muy tranquilas en el lugar donde todo es bonito últimamente.Al final ha llegado el verano, casi todo el mundo está disfrutando de las vacaciones y Álex ha estado un poco perezoso… Solamente dos sesiones en Londres y otras dos en Holanda y eso es todo… he estado trabajando principalmente en las cosas que tengo atrasadas.

Pero ha sucedido algo muy grande y me gustaría compartir esa alegría con todos vosotros. He encontrado por fin la modelo que DEADLYWOOD necesitaba para convertir en su MUÑECA oficial y futura protagonista de la mayoría de mis fotos. Estoy realmente contento de presentaros a la DEADLY DOLL de DEADLYWOOD (DDD): SYNESTHESIA.

SYNESTHESIA es una jóven y nueva modelo de Israel que ha estado viviendo en Holanda durante los últimos 9 años. Es sexy, guapa, atractiva, muy versátil y tiene una magia muy especial que me llamó la atención desde el primer momento que la vi hace un par de meses.

Creo que no voy a olvidar nunca la forma de la que la conocí, igual os la cuento algún día… Todo lo que os puedo decir es que me acerqué hasta los cuarteles de
Cho Kawaii Latex para unirme a mi fantástica Chaneequa e irnos de fiesta, y me vi inmerso en una sesión súper improvisada de la que salieron unas fotos BRUTALES con esta pitufina…

Este es el comienzo de algo DEADLYCIOSO, estoy seguro… así que mientras tanto, por favor, disfrutad de la nueva chica abordo.

I can’t help smiling every time I happen to take a look at the pics I’m showing you today. They were taken in Madrid last year, I was spending a few days there and, in the end,  I finally made the dream of shooting my lovely Sarah.  I’ve known Sarah for a few years, she was probably the most gorgeous (and sweetest) girl in Madrid’s gothic scene. There was a magical connection between us from the very first moment we met, but even though we felt a mutual sympathy, we had never had the opportunity of working together in a proper way before.

I remember perfectly we dated at the subway where she appeared as gorgeous as she usually is after a looong while (she waaaaaaas laaaaaaate… grrrrl!!!) to invite me to meet her parents and to have lunch together at the wonderful teahouse they run. I was very lucky to enjoy many tasty dishes and of also spending my time in the company of her super cuuuuuuuuute metal sister Mima. Mima loves photography, so we took advantage of the occasion to take some crazy pics together.

After that, and as usual in me, we improvised a photo session in a more or less quiet spot of an always crowded surrounding park. To be honest, I liked the place, it was nothing extremely special but having Sarah with me we I didn’t need anything else.

The results were absolutely AMAZING. We didn’t shoot for a long time, probably for one hour, but I can say those are my fav pics from 2012. No doubt about it. She was (as usual) extremely pretty and completely far from her gorgeous gothic look from the past. We had time to take pictures, to talk, to remember old times, old fake people and to discuss the reasons why we both had escaped from that world.

Afterwards, time to have a drink with a (crazy) friend of hers, and to meet Vinz, her nice partner. We went together to their place where Sarah cooked (I’ve got videos and pics to prove it!!!) some tasty stuff for me once again. It was a perfect evening to conclude a perfect day. It really meant a lot to me to meet her again after such a long time (about 2 years) and to enjoy her kindness and beauty.

The pics barely needed any retouch: perfect light, perfect skin, perfect Sarah…  so as I ‘had to do something’ I just played a little bit with the curves in order to increase the contrast a little bit and to give a slightly warmer touch to the images. Nothing else.

I would really like to thank Sarah, not only for that day but also for her unique FRIENDSHIP and all the many little things she did for me in the past, especially when I was not more than just a friend’s friend for her. You’ve always been the KINDEST, so don’t forget: ‘Ce qui ne me tue pas me rend’.

No puedo evitar sonreír cada vez que me coincide de mirar las fotos que os enseño hoy. Las hice en Madrid el año pasado, estaba pasando unos días allí y al final pude hacer realidad el sueño de hacerle fotos a mi queridísima Sarah. Conozco a Sarah desde hace unos cuantos años, era probablemente la chica mas dulce e impresionante de la escena gótica de Madrid. Hubo una conexión mágica entre nosotros desde el primer momento que nos vimos, pero aunque existía un cariño mútuo, nunca habíamos tenido la oportunidad de trabajar juntos como dios manda anteriormente.

Me acuerdo perfectamente que quedamos en el metro, donde se presentó tan guapa como siempre después de un bueeeeen rato (llegoooo taaaaaaarde… grrrrl!!!) para invitarme a conocer a sus padres y a comer juntos en una preciosa tetería que regentan. Tuve mucha suerte de probar un montón de cosas muy ricas y también de disfrutar de la compañía de su encantadora hermana metalera Mima. A Mima le gusta la fotografía, así que aprovechamos la ocasión para hacernos unas cuantas fotos locas juntos.

Después de eso, y como es habitual en mi, improvisamos una sesión en un lugar más o menos tranquilo de un siempre transitado parque cercano. Para ser honesto, me gustó el sitio, no era nada del otro mundo, pero teniendo a Sarah conmigo, no necesitaba nada más.

Los resultados fueron verdaderamente BRUTALES. No estuvimos mucho tiempo disparando, probablemente una hora, pero puedo afirmar que son mis fotos favoritas del 2012. Sin ninguna duda. Estaba (como es normal en ella) súper guapa y muy alejada de su look gótico tan espectacular del pasado. Tuvimos tiempo a hacer fotos, a hablar, a recordar viejos tiempos, a gente falsa y a compartir las razones que nos llevaron a abandonar ese mundillo.

A continuación, tiempo para beber algo con una amiga suya (loquísima) y para conocer a Vinz, su compañero, tan majo. Fuimos juntos a su casa, donde Sarah me cocinó (tengo videos para probarlo!!!) unas cosas muy ricas de nuevo. Fue la noche perfecta para terminar un día perfecto. Significó mucho de verdad para mí encontrarnos de nuevo después de tanto tiempo (casi de dos años) y disfrutar de su amabilidad y belleza.

Las fotos apenas han necesitado procesado: luz perfecta, piel perfecta, Sarah perfecta…  así que como ‘tenia que hacerles algo” jugué un poco con las curvas para subir un poco el contraste y darle un toque un poco mas cálido a las imágenes.

Me gustaría darle las gracias de todo corazón a Sarah, no solo por ese día, sino por su AMISTAD tan única y las muchas cositas que hizo por mi en el pasado, especialmente cuando no era mas que el amigo de una amiga. Siempre has sido un AMOR, así que no  lo olvides: «Ce qui ne me tue pas me rend».

There´s not too much I can say about Ari I haven´t said before… I´ve written about her many times, so I guess I´ll keep it simple today.

As you may remember she was the face in charge of promoting DEADLYWOOD, even before than becoming a tv celebrity loved and adored in my country. I am completely sure all of those who had the chance of watching her on tv know exactly the charming personality under that skin so deliciously inked.

We had many good times together, we laughed, we cried, we did silly things, we took many cool pictures and we became very good friends even though the distance is keeping us apart.

So, from the realms of DEADLYWOOD it´s time to share with you three of my fav pics of her and, naturally, of wishing her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

No hay mucho que pueda decir acerca de Ari que no haya dicho antes… He escrito acerca de ella muchas veces, así que creo que hoy no me voy a enrollar.

Como podréis recordar, ella fue la cara encargada de promocionar DEADLYWOOD, incluso antes de convertirse en una celebrity muy querida y adorada en mi país. Estoy completamebte seguro de que todos aquellos que tuvísteis la ocasión de verla en tv conocéis perfectamente la personalidad tan encantadora que hay bajo esa piel tan deliciosamente tatuada.

Lo pasamos muy bien, nos reimos, lloramos, hicimos todo tipo de tonterias, muchas fotos muy guays y nos hicimos muy buenos amigos aunque a día de hoy la distancia nos tenga separados.

Así que, desde los confines de DEADLYWOOD, es el momento de compartir tres de mis fotos favoritas y, naturalmente, de desearle un FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS.

Pussy Galore’s story is a really curious one. She was one of the very first and few models I contacted when I got to the Netherlands in order to see if we could work together. Some friends had told me I HAD to shoot her, because she looked amazing and she had many tattoos. So I followed that suggestion and I sent her a facebook request telling her I would love to work with her someday.

But nothing happened… MONTHS went by and no news about her. So my only thought was… what an arrogant girl… grrrrrrl!!!

Suddenly, a few months later, I got her reply telling me she liked my stuff and that she would be around my area me in just a few days so she would love to work with me. Everything happened really fast, so fast we didn´t had much time to prepare something in particular. In just a few days I was shooting her in a Rotterdam hotel.

The shoot was highly improvised. We had just a few words on our minds: elegance, latex and hotel, which we tried to combine in the best possible way. I think the photo shoot was quite nice, we all felt very comfortable, taking into account that barely we had crossed a few words before, and I liked the results so much that I proposed to her to be the cover of Bedeseme Magazine. I had just been chosen the official photographer, and I needed some brand new stuff for the magazine. That´s why she became a cover girl in one of her very first shoots, her second one if I am not wrong.

But what made me really happy was that PussyGalore had a wish in mind and we managed to make it happen. She wanted a sexy and beautiful shot as a kitty, so after the main shoot, we went for the kitty picture. And the results were BRUTAL (or at least that´s what I think) I really adore the two pictures I show you today… once again 2 of my fav pics ever.

If you are looking for something curious, I can tell you that the super famous Inked Magazine was extremely interested in publishing these pics, but they were immediately dismissed when they saw TITS!!! Sorry little Álex, this is USA, we can produce porn, we can start wars, we can bomb countries but we can´t show TITS! So take your kitty and go home L.

Talking about the processing of the pics… I didn´t have to do a lot. Just correcting some minor things, but what you see in my pic, as 100% of the times, is the real model… no need of using any photoshop tricks to ‘create’ a beautiful girl kitty.

A very very big hug and many many thanks to PussyGalore, and her partner Ceno Bite for having trusted me for this shoot and for having become a good pair of friends.

La historia de PussyGalore es realmente curiosa. Fue una de las pocas y primerísimas modelos con las que contacté cuando llegué a Holanda para ver si podríamos trabajar juntos. Unos amigos me habían dicho que TENÍA que hacerle fotos porque era espectacular y tenía muchos tatuajes. Así que seguí el consejo y le envié una petición de amistad por facebook diciéndole que me gustaría trabajar con ella algún día.

Pero no sucedió nada… Los MESES pasaban y ninguna noticia de ella. Así que mi única pensamiento era…  vaya tía más idiota… grrrrllll!!

De repente, unos meses después, me llegó su respuesta diciéndome que le gustaba mi material y que en unos días iba a estar cerca de mi, así que le encantaría trabajar conmigo. Todo sucedió muy rápido, tanto que no tuvimos mucho tiempo para preparar algo muy concreto. En tan solo unos días estaba haciéndole fotos en un hotel de Rotterdam.

La sesión fue altamente improvisada. Solamente teníamos unas palabras en mente: elegancia, látex y hotel, las cuales tratamos de combinar de la mejor forma posible. Creo que la sesión salió bastante bien, todos nos sentimos muy cómodos, teniendo en cuenta que apenas habíamos cruzado unas palabras anteriormente. Los resultados me convencieron tanto que le propuse ser la portada de la Bedeseme Magazine. Me habían elegido el fotógrafo oficial y necesitaba material nuevo para la revista. Así es como se convirtió en chica de portada en una de sus primerísimas sesiones, la segunda si no me equivoco.

Pero lo que realmente me dejó muy contento fue que PussyGalore deseaba una foto y la logramos sacar. Quería una foto sexy de gatita, así que tras la sesión en sí, fuimos a por las fotos gatunas. Y el resultado fue BRUTAL (o al menos eso es lo que yo pienso). Me gustan de verdad las dos fotos que os muestro hoy… una vez más, 2 de mis favoritas.

Si buscáis algo curioso, puedo deciros que la famosísima Inked Magazine estuvo extremadamente interesada en publicar estas fotos, pero fueron descartadas inmediatamente cuando vieron TETAS!!! Los siento pequeño Álex, esto son los EEUU, podemos producir porno, podemos empezar guerras, podemos bombardear países, pero no podemos mostrar TETAS!!! Así que coge tu gatita y vete para casa.

Hablando del procesado… No tuve que hacer mucho, solamente corregir un par de detallitos, pero lo que veis en la foto, como en el 100% de las veces, es la modelo real… no hace falta usar ningún truco de photoshop para “crear” una chica gatita guapa.

It is neither nice nor fair to choose between your little «children», but this could be probably the best pic I took last year. I don’t have obviously all of them in mind right now, and there are many still waiting for their chance to see the light, but I have always loved this one especially.

Maryah and I had done a session in Madrid’s rooftops only a few months later, but even when I thought the results were quite interesting, she said she didn’t really liked the way she looked, her outfit… so she  proposed me to try again. She arranged a new location, a very amazing building with impressive views in the very very center of Madrid… so there we went. I remember it was an afternoon hotter than hell, probably around 35 degrees, perfect conditions to be dressed in leather on a rooftop.

The shooting didn’t have any particular secret… we just tried to shoot and not to die in the act: Maryah because of the heat and me trying not to fall into the void, because I am sure all the people who know me have CLEAR I was walking on the edge and climbing (veeeeeeeeeeery dangerous places this time) as I usually do.

We shot for approximately 1 hour… (I didn’t have more time because I had to shoot other girl in just 30 minutes) and the stuff looked so good that Maryah decided to send it to Bedeseme Magazine. I agreed, due to but last minute changes it was never published.

Processing these pics was a real pain in the ass…  not because of the pics themselves, which were quite correct, the real problem was to fix the latex (too maaaaaaany stains and imperfections), the hood (was a little big for Maryah)… It was teeeeeerrible!

There are color versions & the black and white versions you probably have already seen of this set. I’ve always been more satisfied with the black & white Helmut Newton’s look alike ones. The color ones are nice, but the black & white ones look more amazing.

By the way, I would like to add that all you see in the pic is absolutely REAL. The clouds… Maryah crawling on the edge of the building… I tell you this because as I think you already know, I am not the kind of guy who likes to add “heavens”, “clouds” or any other extra stuff to his pics. NO digital art please, just keep it photography!

No está bien ni es bonito elegir entre tus “hijos”, pero probablemente esta sea la mejor foto que hice el año pasado. Obviamente, no las tengo ahora mismo todas en mente y aun hay muchas esperando a tener su oportunidad de ver la luz, pero ésta siempre me ha gustado en especial.

Maryah y yo ya habíamos hecho una sesión en los tejados de Madrid tan solo unos meses antes, pero aun cuando a mi me parecía que los resultados habían sido bastante interesantes, ella dijo que no le gustaba como salía, ni su indumentaria… así que me propuso repetir. Consiguió una nueva localización, un edificio con unas vistas impresionantes en el centro centro de Madrid… y ahí fuimos. Recuerdo que era una tarde más calurosa que el infierno, probablemente 35 grados, vamos… condiciones perfectas para estar vestida de cuero en una azotea.

La sesión en sí no tuvo ningún secreto… solamente intentamos hacer fotos y no morir en el acto: Maryah de calor y yo cayendo al vacío, porque estoy seguro de que todos los que me conocéis tenéis CLARO que andaba caminando por el borde y subiéndome a sitios (esta vez muuuuuuuuuuuy peligrosos)  como siempre.

Hicimos fotos durante 1 hora… (no tenía más tiempo porque tenía otra sesión con otra chica en tan solo 30 minutos) y el material estaba tan bien que Maryah decidió mandarlo a la revista Bedeseme. Yo estaba de acuerdo, pero al final debido a cambios de última hora nunca se llegaron a publicar.

Procesar estas fotos fue un horror… no por las fotos en sí que estaban bastante bien hechas, el problema fue arreglar el látex (demasiadas marcas e imperfecciones), la mascara (le quedaba un poco grande a Maryah)… Fue teeeeeerrible!

Hay versión en color y en blanco y negro que probablemente ya habráis visto de todas las fotos de esta sesión. Siempre he estado más satisfecho con las de blanco y negro a lo Helmut Newton. Las de color están bien, pero las otras son mucho más llamativas.

Por cierto, me gustaría añadir que todo lo que veis en la foto es absolutamente REAL. Las nubes… Maryah gateando por el borde del edificio… Os digo esto porque  creo que ya sabéis que no soy el tipo de tío al que le gusta añadir “cielos”, “nubes” o cualquier otra cosa extra a sus fotos. NO arte digital, mantenla fotografía!
