As some of you may have heard, there is an interesting article about my photography in Massad’s current issue (#268). I re-revisited about 30 of my best pics so they could choose the ones they liked / fitted better for the magazine, and the pic I post today is one of the ones it didn’t finally made it.

This picture belongs to one of my very first sessions, and I consider it as one of my very first good pictures. Shot back in Madrid, in October 2010, it features the most amazing model in Spain: my dearest Sofía Hérnandez. Not only she is an amazing model but also a very many faceted woman: my fav tattoo artist ever, Pussycat Kill’s wild and amazing vocalist & guitar player… and a woman with a presence and attitude as I’ve never seen before. I think the image talks by itself and captures pretty well what Sofía is.

I have always adored my one and only session with Sofía (damn, we must repeat!) and this has been one of my all-time favourites. In fact, this was the pic I had initially chosen for DEADLYWOOD, though when I showed my preliminary selection to some of my closest friends, I finally changed my mind to this one.

Unfortunately and even though my original edit was not that bad, I always had the intention of going though it again. It’s very very very often that I don’t like my edits as time goes by, especially the ones I did in the first years, so this pic just like many others deserved a second chance.

Current edit is not very very different to the original one but it is closer, let’s say, to true photography. Just wanted to run away this time from silly editing tendencies of “photographers” like Mellado… to say a name.

With SOFIA HERNÁNDEZ. Last time we met… (Madrid 2013)

Como algunos de vosotros ya habréis oído, hay un interesante artículo acerca de mi fotografía en el número actual (#268) de Massad. Les volví a echar un vistazo a alrededor de 30 de mis mejores fotografías para que pudiesen escoger aquellas que les gustaban o encajaban mejor en la revista y la que os maestro hoy es una de las que al final no se publicaron.

Esta toma pertenece a una de mis primeras sesiones, y la considero una de mis primerísimas buenas fotos. Hecha en Madrid, en Octubre del 2010, muestra a la modelo más impresionante de España: mi queridísima Sofía Hérnandez. No le llega con ser una modelo brutal, sino que también es la mujer más polifacética que te puedas echar a la cara: mi tatuadora favorita, la cantante y guitarrista de Pussycat Kill… y una mujer con una actitud como no he visto en nadie antes. Creo que la imagen habla por si misma y captura bastante bien lo que Sofía es.

Siempre me ha encantado la única sesión que hice con Sofía (maldita sea, tenemos que repetir!) y ésta ha sido una de mis favoritas de todos los tiempos. De hecho, fue la que en un inicio seleccioné para DEADLYWOOD, aunque al mostrarle mi selección preliminar a algunos de mis amigos más cercanos, al final me decidí por ésta.

Desafortunadamente y aunque la edición original no era tan mala, siempre he tenido la intención de meterle mano de nuevo. Suele suceder muchas muchas muchas veces que a medida que pasa el tiempo no me convence como he editado las fotos, especialmente aquellas que hice en los primeros años, así que ésta al igual que muchas otras merecía una segunda oportunidad.

La edición no dista mucho de la original, pero está mucho más cercana, por decirlo de alguna forma, a la fotografía de verdad. Solamente quise escapar de modas de edición idiotas con las que malamente me influenciaban otros “fotógrafos” como Mellado… por citar un nombre.

Besazos enormes Sofía. Te quiero!!!!

I’m very happy to show you the first picture of the society I’ve started with my personal model Naomi Morphine. Well, this is not strictly true, because it is in fact it is the second one which has seen the light, but it is the first one I edit. Naomi is in charge of the edition of our stuff at the moment, but I really loved this one and I thought we really needed a black & white version of it. So here it is…

And who is Naomi Morphine? Well, let’s say she is the model who will blow your mind and that I had been looking for a long time… and after several failed attempts, I have finally found. Attractive, alternative, beautiful, tattooed, chameleonic, killer looks and crazy and decided enough to make my photographic ideas come true. So get used to her because we’re here to rock.

This pic was taken in Essen during our trip to Fetish Evolution. We shot in different outfits and locations, but I really loved the ‘romantic’ (really?) touch this one in the woods has. I think this pic is absolutely precious, at least I like it a lot… so I couldn’t help posting it here.

The edition… well, it has no edition at all. Just my typical black & white conversion, a lot of grain, and that’s all.

Me pone muy contento mostraros la primera de las fotos de la sociedad que he empezado con mi modelo personal Naomi Morphine. Bien, esto no es estrictamente cierto puesto que en realidad es la segunda que ha visto la luz, pero la primera que edito yo. Naomi se ha encargado de la edición de nuestro material hasta ahora, pero ésta me gustaba tanto que pensé que nos hacía falta una versión en blanco y negro. Así que aquí está…

Y quién es Naomi Morphine? Bien, digamos que la modelo que os va a volver locoso y que había estado buscando desde hace bastante tiempo… y que después de unos cuantos intentos fallidos, he encontrado. Atractiva, alternativa, guapa, tatuada, camaleónica, estilismos brutales y lo suficientemente loca y decidida para llevar a mis ideas fotográficas a la realidad. Así que acostumbraros a ella porque estamos aquí para liarla

Esta fotografía la tomamos durante nuestro viaje a Fetish Evolution. Trabajamos con varios modelitos en lugares distintos, pero desde el principio me encantó el toque romántico (de verdad?) que tiene esta foto en el bosque. Me parece una foto realmente preciosa, al menos a mi me gusta mucho… así que no pude evitar publicarla.

La edición… bien, no tiene edición alguna. Tan solo mi típico blanco y negro, bastante grano y ya está.

Estad atentos. Esto no ha hecho más que empezar…

Finally… I can already show you something from the girl who has torn my photographic world to pieces, the unique Fräulein Katzentanz. Those who have read my post about Fetish Evolution, they know what I mean. Those who haven’t should take a look here to understand my admiration.

Unfortunately, lack of communication almost made me miss the chance of shooting the girl I had travelled to Essen for, because I couldn’t find her. But just like in most of DEADLYWOOD’s movies, there was a happy ending!!! We found each other at the Bizarre Ball, and we immediately arranged something for the next morning.

It was a long a crazy night: party, more party, afterparty and more afterparty. I hadn’t even slept for 2 hours when I got her message saying she was almost finished with her make up… woooooooooow!!!

Fräulein preferred to shoot inside the hotel, but those who have been to Hotel Bredeney know it is not a very special place to shoot, so decided to take her to the woods. We shot there for a while some stuff I really think it is EPIC (not because of me, but because of her) and we had a second outfit to shoot, but it was pretty cold, starting to rain… so we returned to finish in the hotel.

Once there and while she changed her outfit, I tried to find a location which could be minimally interesting. You don’t need a lot having someone like her, but it is always nice to count on a decent location if possible. So I went for the stairs and in no more than ten minutes and after some acrobatic shooting, we managed to get some cool results like the one I’m showing today.

The edition was quite simple, color adjustments, fixing some things in the latex, cleaning the windows frames from spots, scratches, etc, etc… Nothing really special. It was nice I didn’t have to touch her face which was so extremely pale because of the cold outside.

Working with Fräulein has been the beginning of a dream because we are extremely happy with the first results, we have many things in common and because we adore each other (at least I do!). She’s one of those people who are so absolutely amazing that you want to keep close forever.

These two cats will meow together many more times in the future, so you’d better be ready to be scratched by her unique and amazing attractive.

Thanks a lot Super K especially for your trust and faith in my photography and for being so extremely NICE and PERFECT!

Al fin… Ya puedo mostraros algo de la chica que ha hecho trizas mi mundo fotográfico , la única e inigualable Fräulein Katzentanz. Aquellos que han leido mi entrada acerca de Fetish Evolution saben bien a que me refiero. Y los que no, deberían de echar un vistazo aquí para comprender mi admiración.

Desafortunadamente, la falta de comunicación casi me hace perder la ocasión de hacerle fotos a la chica por la cual había viajado a Essen, porque no la pude localizar. Pero al igual que en la mayoría de las películas de DEADLYWOOD hubo final feliz!!! Nos encontramos en el Bizarre Ball e inmediatamente organizamos algo para la mañana siguiente.

Fue una noche larga y loca: fiesta, más fiesta, fiesta tras la fiesta y más fiesta tras la fiesta. No había dormido ni dos horas cuando recibí su mensaje diciéndome que estaba a punto de terminar con el maquillaje … woooooooooow!!!.

Fräulein prefería hacer las fotos dentro del hotel, pero aquellos que han visitado el Hotel Bredeney saben que no es un lugar altamente especial para trabajar, así que decidí llevármela al bosque. Hicimos fotos allí durante un rato y hay material que me parece ÉPICO (no por mí, sino por ella) y teníamos un segundo modelito para afotar, pero hacía bastante frío, empezaba a llover… así que volvimos al hotel.

Una vez allí y mientras se cambiaba, traté de buscar un sitio que pudiese ser mínimamente interesante. No necesitas mucho cuando tienes a alguien como ella, pero nunca está de más tener una localización mínimamente decente a ser posible. Me decidí por las escaleras y en no más de diez minutos y tras algunas acrobacias, logramos cosas tan chulas como lo que os muestro hoy.

La edición fue bastante sencilla. Ajustes de color, arreglar algunos detalles en el látex, limpiar los marcos de las ventanas de manchas, arañazos, etc … Nada realmente remarcable. Estuvo bien no haberle tenido que tocarle a la cara porque ya estaba lo suficientemente blanca del frío que hacía fuera.

Trabajar con Fräulein ha sido el comienzo de un sueño porque estamos muy satisfechos con los primeros resultados, tenemos muchas cosas en común y porque nos adoramos mútuamente (al menos yo a ella!). Es una de esas personas que son tan absolutamente tremendas que las quieres tener cerca para siempre.

Estos dos gatos volverán a maullar juntos muchas veces en el futuro, así que estad preparados para que os arañe con su único e incredible atractivo.

Work, work, work… That’s what I’ve been dedicated to lately. I’ve got lots of old pics and a lot of new ones waiting to see the light, but first I needed to finish with my Dominatrix’s ones. A little bit late, but I’ve finally finished editing them, sent them to the organization and you will be hopefully able to see them at www.dominatrix.nl.

However, inspired by a beautiful pic I took in November’s edition and trying to add my personal touch which makes me different to the rest of my colleagues there, I decided to take a risk and to do something special. So avoiding the typical catwalk pics, refusing the nice lights and colours of the outfits, I went for some series of black and white pictures, simply back to the basics and playing with the lights and shadows… I don’t really know what people are going think about them, but I do like them and I find them different.

Besides, I must confess all these pics hold a secret, but since it is a secret, I am not going to tell you. Anyway, here you are some snapshots.

Trabajo, trabajo, trabajo… Eso es a lo que me he dedicado últimamente. Tengo un montón de fotos viejas y otro de nuevas por ver la luz, pero antes tenía que terminar con las de Dominatrix. Un poco tarde, pero ya he acabado finalmente de editarlas, se las he mandado a la organización y seguramente podáis verlas pronto en www.dominatrix.nl.

Sin embargo, inspirado por una foto preciosa que tomé en la edición de Noviembre e intentando aportar ese toque tan personal que me hace diferente a mis colegas, decidí tomar un riesgo y hacer algo especial. Así que evitando las fípicas fotos de pasarla, renunciando a la iluminación y los colores de los conjuntos, opté por unas series en blanco y negro, volviendo simplemente a lo más básico y a jugar con luces y sombras… No sé que es lo que va a pensar la gente, pero a mí me gustan y las encuentro diferentes.

Además he de confesar que estas fotos guardan un secreto, pero por tratarse de un secreto, no os lo voy a desvelar. En fin, aquí os quedan unas cuantas.

Que tengáis un buen fin de semana, Si nada cambia estaré de nuevo por aquí el lunes para mostraros algo de mi modelo favorita.

April 10th 2009.

That’s the day I had my first photo-shoot ever. That means today it’s my 5th anniversary as ‘someone who takes pictures’… People usually ask me when I started shooting, and here you have the answer: on a day like today EXACTLY 5 years ago.

It happened in Athens, with two lovely Ukrainian girls, one of them was not only to become one of the persons I love and admire the most, but also the most talented and stunning artist in Greece in my opinion: Wild Rose. Take a while to visit her website because you will never regret it: ‘The Wild Rose’s Mesmerizing Stories’.

I’ve talked a few times about this shoot, so I’m not going to do it again. But I can tell you after only 3 minutes we were kicked out from the legendary Acropolis because it was a ‘sacred place, not a place to shoot that type of sexy girls…’ RESPEEEEEEEECT!!! Wonderful start!!!. Of course, the shoot continued in the surrounding areas and I must admit we did a good job. Looking at the pics nowadays, most of my photographic skills didn’t exist at all by that time, and my skills editing pics SUCKED 999% but I think I ‘had the eye’. Some of them can be probably found somewhere online yet, though Nina recommended me to remove them a couple of years ago because they were not so good as the rest of my stuff. I should re-edit properly some of them someday… I think they deserve it.

Looking back what I’ve done and become in this first 5 years I can say I am very proud and happy. Even though I’ve never had the intention of becoming a ‘famous’ photographer it is very nice to see a guy from a veeeeeeery small village of about 900 inhabitants, surrounded by nature, far away from big cities, parties, latex… and starting from the scratch, knowing NOTHING about photography, has managed to catch the attention of people all around the globe. I am always very surprised to receive messages from people everywhere who would like me to shoot them, even people I have always admired and dreamed of like Rubberdoll or Ruby Luster just to mention a couple of names…. It must be a dream.

But not everything’s been a bed of roses. I’ve also had serious fights, especially with some ‘super photographers’ (according to themselves), people who didn’t even know me and whom I didn’t know… I’ve never understood the reasons quite well, but most of the times they felt threatened (????) by a guy without any experience who was coming from out of nowhere and who was supposed to be their ‘competitor.’ I’ve had very serious issues with some of my ‘fans’. I can even remember one who made an appointment with me to give me ‘what I deserved’ in the very centre of Madrid but who was to brave not to attend in the very last moment… Of course, Álex was there.

MODELS: I’m super thankful to everyone who has ever helped and trusted me… I’ve shot many girls, some of them proved to be people to forget, but most of them were really nice and grateful, and a very small amount became real real real close FRIENDS. So I can say it hasn’t been that bad, even though nobody can escape from making some mistakes. I find it really funny when people say things to me like ‘Alex, I need some of your girls…’, ‘Alex, why don’t you come with your girls?’, ‘Alex, your girls are the most beautiful ever…’ . It makes me also feel like a pimp!!! LOL!

SECRETS: I think the only secrets are to work hard, to study, and to do what you really like and believing in it, of course taking your time to decide the people you have to shoot. I am very picky and selective with the people I work with… and it’s become even worse with time. I travelled all around Spain in the first 3 years looking for the type of girls I needed and soon I made a name, became ‘known’, press, magazines, exhibitions, DEADLYWOOD, contests, tv… From being shooting my only model and friend Merce to shoot the greatest (and my fav!) tv star like ‘El Gran Wyoming’. Crazy!

It might sound arrogant, but it has not been difficult. People often say I’ve got a very personal and particular style, my pics are easily recognizable (I don’t even need to sign my pics sometimes) so I guess I only filled a gap that was missing in the Spanish photographic scene. Though the real thing I’ve always wanted to stay more like an ‘underground’ photographer reserved to the ones who can truly love and appreciate my style. That’s been mainly one of the reasons for escaping / deleted / abandoned my profiles from most of the sites I was like Fotoplatino (OMF!), ModelMayhem, Suicide Girls, TattooTrash, etc… and magazines I used to work for (Bedeseme, Bizarre, etc… ). Let’s keep it asocial. In fact, I haven’t finished my web /upload a single pic to it after 3 years!I’ve been tempted to stop shooting many times lately, so let’s see what happens. However, once thing is for sure, my intention is to cut down drastically the number of photo-shoots. It’s always been like that, but it will be even more. I’ve got my very small group of people I love to shoot and I will continue enjoying photography and good moments with them. You know perfectly who you are, so don’t worry, you’ll never get rid of me…

And it’s high to focus all my time and attention in my new super model AkemiLoveDoll. You’ll hear about her a lot very soon, if you haven’t yet…

And to finish, as birthday present, a REAL rarity… my 1st ‘serious’ picture ever (featuring my sister and our neighbour´s cute daughter). I took it and I won a photographic contest!!!

Ese fue el día que hice mi primera sesión. Lo que quiere decir que hoy hace 5 años que soy “alguien que hace fotos”… La gente me suele preguntar cuando empecé, así que aquí tenéis la respuesta: tal día como hoy, hace EXACTAMENTE 5 años.

Sucedió en Atenas, con dos cielos Ucranianas, una de las cuales no solo se convertiría en una de las personas que más quiero y admiro, sino que también, en mi opinión, en la artista con más talento de Grecia: Wild Rose. Echadle un vistazo a su página web porque no os vais a arrepentir: ”The Wild Rose’s Mesmerizing Stories«.

Ya he hablado acerca de esa sesión alguna otra vez, así que no me voy a repetir. Solamente deciros que en solo 3 minutos nos largaron de la legendaria Acrópolis porque era un “lugar sagrado, no un lugar para hacer fotos a chicas sexys…” RESPEEEEEEEECT!!! Buen comienzo!!!. Por supuesto, la sesión continuó en sus alrededores y he de admitir que hicimos un buen trabajo. Al ver esas fotos a día de hoy, está claro que la mayor parte de mis virtudes fotográficas aun no existían y mis conocimientos de edición eran HORRIBLES al 999%, aunque creo que “tenía el ojo”. Algunas de ellas todavía pueden encontrarse probablemente online, aunque Nina me recomendó hace un par de años que las eliminase porque no estaban al mismo nivel que el resto de mi material. Debería re-editarlas como Dios manda uno de estos días… Creo que se lo merecen.

Echando un vistazo a lo que he hecho durante estos 5 primeros años puedo decir que estoy muy contento. Aunque nunca he tenido la intención de convertirme en un fotógrafo “famoso” es muy reconfortante ver como un tío de un pueblo muuuuuuuuuuuy pequeno de unos 900 habitantes, rodeado de la naturaleza, lejos de las grandes ciudades, las fiestas, el látex… y partiendo de cero, sin saber NADA de fotografía, ha conseguido captar la atención de personas de todo el planeta. Siempre me sorprende recibir mensajes de gente de todas partes diciendo que les gustaría que les hiciese fotos, incluso de personajes a la que siempre he adorado y soñado como Rubberdoll o Ruby Luster, por mencionar un par de nombres…. Debe ser un sueño.

Pero no todo ha sido una cama de rosas. He tenido problemas serios, especialmente con algunos ”súper fotógraf@s” (según ellos), gente que nisiquiera me conocen o a los que ni siquiera conocía… Nunca llegué a comprender muy bien las razones, pero solía ser que se sentían amenazad@s (????) por un tío sin experiencia que aparecía de la nada y se había convertido en su competidor.” He tenido ciertos incidentes con mis “fans”. Me acuerdo hasta de uno que se citó conmigo en el centro de Madrid para “darme lo que merecía”, pero que fue lo suficientemente valiente como para no presentarse en el ultimo momento… Por supuesto, Álex estaba allí.

MODELOS: Estoy súper agradecido a todas las que me han ayudado y confiado en mí … He hecho fotos a muchísimas, algunas de ellas han demostrado ser gente para olvidar, pero la mayoría han sido maravillosas y muy agradecidas, y unas poquitas se han convertido en AMIGAS de verdad. Así que no puedo decir que me haya ido tan mal, aunque nadie se puede escapar de cometer errores. Me resulta muy gracioso cuando la gente me dice cosas como “Álex, me hace falta alguna de tus chicas…”, ”Álex, por qué no te vienes con tus chicas?”,”Álex, tienes a las tías mas guapas que he visto…” . Me hace sentir como si fuse un chulo!!! Ja ja ja!!

SECRETOS: Creo que los únicos secretos que hay son trabajar duro, estudiar, y hacer lo que te gusta creyendo en ello, y naturalmente, tomarte tu tiempo en escoger correctamente a la gente a la que le vas a hacer fotos. Soy muy cuidadoso y selectivo con las personas con las que trabajo … y eso ha ido incluso a peor con el tiempo. Me recorrí toda Espana durante los 3 primeros años buscando el tipo de chicas que necesitaba, y pronto conseguí hacerme “conocido”, prensa, revistas, exposiciones, DEADLYWOOD, concursos, tv… De estar haciéndole fotos a mi única modelo y amiga Merce a hacérselas a la más grande (y mi favorita) estrella televisiva ‘El Gran Wyoming’. Flipante!

Podría sonar arrogante, pero no ha sido difícil. La gente suele decir que tengo un estilo muy personal y particular, fácilmente reconocible (a veces no me hace ni falta firmar mis fotos), así que imagino que no he hecho más que llenar un vacío que había en el panorama fotográfico espanol. Aunque lo cierto es que siempre he preferido permanecer más como un fotógrafo “underground” reservado para aquellos que les gusta de verdad y aprecian mi estilo. Esa es pricipalmente la razón por la que he escapado / borrado / abandonado mis perfiles de la mayor parte de páginas en las que estaba como Fotoplatino (por favooooor!), ModelMayhem, Suicide Girls, TattooTrash, etc… y parado de colaborar con publicaciones como (Bedeseme, Bizarre, etc… ). Vamos a ser asocial. De hecho no he terminado ni mi web, ni subido ni una sola foto en los últimos 3 años.

FUTURO: He estado tentado a parar varias veces últimamente, así que ya veremos lo que sucede. Sin embargo, hay una cosa segurísima, mi intención es reducir drásticamente el número de sesiones. Siempre ha sido así, pero ahora todavía más. Ya tengo, mi pequeño grupo de gente a la que hacer fotos y seguiré compartiendo mi fotografía y pasándolo bien con ellos. Sabéis perfectamente quienes sois así que no tenéis nada que temer. Nunca os vais a librar de mí …

Y es el momento de concentrar todo mi tiempo y atención en mi nueva súper modelo, AkemiLoveDoll. Escucharéis hablar de ella muy pronto, si no lo habéis hecho ya…

AGRADECIMIENTOS ESPECIALES: Naturalmente, me gustaría agradecer a TODOS los que han contribuido a mi fotografía: modelos, maquilladoras, familia, amigos, gente a la que le gustan mis fotos, gente a la que no… hay lugar para TODOS.

Pero NO puedo terminar el post de hoy sin agradecer a los GRANDES AMIGÓGRAFOS que me han ayudado / enseñado durante estos años: Rocío Brage (mi profe que está como una cabra!!!), Ovidio Aldegunde (el mejor fotógrafo de Espana y encargado de desarrollar mis aptitudes para el retrato), Edu Panchito (el fotógrafo más humilde y médico para mi equipo después de mis desastres fotográficos), Nolo & Ana Darkmemories (me tenéis sin palabras…), Marius Van Der Pol & Azwera (ayudando y apoyándome desde mis comienzos en Holanda – y responsables de mi firma!), Andonis Master Rex (mi profe/amigo griego y el PRIMERO en ayudarme y creer en mí), Bob Ropemarks & Dutch Dame (los más encantadores y mejores companeros de fiestas), Irresistible Iris & Giel (totalmente sin palabras… amor infinito!), Rodrigo Uquillas (gracias por el montón de sesiones juntos, las películas y la comida mejicana en el Flash In Studio!), John Tsilidis (por la inspiración y espejo donde mirarme – te odio, lo sabes) y Steve Diet Goedde (por la inspiración y ser tan majo conmigo). Y finalmente, pero sin ser menos AkemiLoveDoll (prepárate para LIARLA!).

Y para terminar, de regalo de cumpleaños, una AUTÉNTICA rareza… mi primera foto “seria” (con mi hermana y la hija de mi vecina). La hice especialmente para un concurso de fotografía y lo gané!!!

35 Days since my last entry at DEADLYWOOD… I am not going to enter into the details but a big tragedy which shook entirely the foundations of my photographic world happened. I didn’t even know if it was going to be possible or if I was going to have the strength to continue, but here I am again since destiny gave me the chance of continuing. I WOULDN´T like to disappoint some very cute people who believe in me and the things I do.

I would really like to thank in special to my loved Sofia & Bibi, my sugarlove Sally, Dutch Dame & Bob Ropemarks, Lindsey Koning, and last but not least my fav DJs ever: Lolla Tek & Adriana Vega (luuuuuuuuv u babes!) for always drawing a smile on my face.

There’s calm before the storm now, so some things are gonna change… After having been about to take the decision of stopping shooting, I decided I will focus ONLY in a very few people who I consider they really deserve to be around me… I am extremely excited because I’m shooting one of my biggest photographic crushes ever very soon, so I can’t hide I am really looking forward to it. Who is she? I won’t tell a word… I’m only telling I LOVE that woman!!!.

To illustrate today’s post, and since DEADLYWOOD’s been frozen to death, there is not too much new to show… but I have something I did with two amazing ladies: Lindsey Koning, and Anita Divina. This shoot was a highly improvised one (some things will never change) but I must admit I am extremely happy with the results… hope you also like them.

There’s not too much to say about the edition… there’s a color version, which needed more time and attention but I think the black and white one says much more.

So ladies and gentlemen, thanks for your time… see you very soon.

35 Días desde mi última entrada en DEADLYWOOD… No voy a entrar en los detalles, pero sucedió una tragedia que hizo temblar enteramente los cimientos de mi mundo fotográfico. No sabía nisiquiera si iba a ser posible o si iba a tener la fuerza para continuar, pero aquí estoy otra vez ya que el destino me ha dado la oportunidad de seguir. NO me gustaría defraudar a cierta gente maravillosa que cree en mí y en las cosas que hago.

Me gustaría agradecer especialmente a mis queridas Sofia & Bibi, mi sugaramor Sally, Dutch Dame & Bob Ropemarks, Lindsey Koning, y finalmente, pero no en menor grado a mis DJs favoritas: Lolla Tek & Adriana Vega (os quieeeeeeeeero cielos!) por dibujar siempre una sonrisa en mi cara.

Ahora hay calma tras la tormenta, así que algunas cosas van a cambiar… Después de casi haber tomado la decisión de parar de hacer fotos, decidí que SÓLO me centraría en un pequeño grupo de gente que merece estar a mi alrededor… Estoy súper excitado porque en nada voy a hacerle fotos a uno de mis más grandes deseos fotográficos, no puedo esconder queme tarda muchísimo. A quién?? No voy a decir una palabra… sólo que AMO a esa mujer!!!.

Para ilustrar la entrada de hoy, ya que DEADLYWOOD ha estado congelado hasta la muerte, no es que haya mucho nuevo que mostrar… pero tengo algo que hice con dos damas tremendas: Lindsey Koning y Anita Divina. Esta sesión fue altamente improvisada (algunas cosas no cambiarán nunca) pero he de admitir que estoy súper contento con los resultados.

Acerca de la edición no hay mucho más que decir… hay una versión en color, la cual necesitó un poco más de tiempo, pero creo que la versión en blanco y negro dice mucho más.

Así que damas y caballeros, muchas gracias por su tiempo… nos vemos muy pronto.

There are many different reasons for taking a picture. I could write lines and lines about things that move us, photographers, to press the shutter, but it’s not my intention to bore anyone of you.

One of the things which usually moves me is to make people happy, especially when they really need it.

And that applies to María today. I’m sure you have seen her in many of my pics before, especially because she’s my super best friend. She’s not in the best mood lately since she tragically lost someone she loved, so I hope this pic can at least draw a small smile on her face.

María is crazy, even more than I am, so you can imagine how CRAZY things turn between us when we are together. She was, of course, one of the people I had to meet FOR SURE when I went back to Spain, so we arranged a crazy date/improvised photo shoot like in the old times.

I drove to Vilagarcia on a rainy day, we met after 1 year, had lunch together and looked for a suitable place where to work. After several failed attempts with locations, we ended in a nice park. The real highlight from the shoot was when part of my equipment, with exception of my camera fell into the river you see in the pic. Shit happens and shit ALWAYS happens if i’m around. So the final conclusion was that Canon Speedlite 480 EX II won’t live anymore when sunk in a river. It’s maybe fucking expensive but not waterproof. Every effort Edu & I made in the following days to bring it back to life, disassembling it piece by piece,  was not successful.

Well, not to say after having drawned part of my gear, we kept shooting for a while!

Incidents apart, I had absolutely clear what I wanted for this picture. My mind was set to black & white once again and I just needed María sit showing how cute she is. I also have a color version for this one, which looks pretty awesome, but I love more the black & white one.

The edition was very easy…  I only had to remove two spotlights under the bridge (I NEVER add/remove things, but they looked really HORRIBLE, trust me…). Then a cute black & white conversion, some grain and picture finished…

So, to fininish for today, sending all my sympathy and support to María in these difficult times. Hope at least the pic makes you smile.

Hay muchas razones distintas para tomar una fotografía. Podría escribir líneas y líneas acerca de lo que nos mueve, a los fotógrafos, a apretar el botón, pero no es mi intención aburrir a ninguno de vosotros..

Una de las cosas que a mí me suele mover es hacer a la gente feliz, especialmente cuando lo necesitan de verdad.

Y eso se aplica a María hoy. Estoy seguro de que la habéis visto en muchas de mis fotos antes, especialmente porque es mi súper mejor amiga. No está en su mejor momento últimamente ya que ha perdido trágicamente a alguien a quien quería, así que espero que esta foto pueda dibujarle al menos una pequeña sonrisa en la cara.

María está como una cabra, aun mucho más que yo, así que os podéis imaginar como se descontrolan las cosas cuando nos juntamos. Ella era, naturalmente, una de las personas a las que tenía que ver cuando volví a España, así que preparamos una locura de cita / sesión improvisada como en los viejos tiempos.

Conduje hasta Vilagarcia un día lluvioso, nos volvimos a ver después de 1 año, comimos juntos y buscamos un lugar adecuado para hacer las fotos. Tras varios intentos fallidos, terminamos en un parque. El punto álgido de la sesión fue cuando parte de mi equipo, a excepción de mi cámara, se cayó al río que véís en la foto. Suceden cosas raras y SIEMPRE suceden cosas rara cuando yo estoy presente. La conclusión final fue que el Speedlite 480 EX II de Canon no vuelve a la vida tras ir a parar al fondo de un río. Puede que sea caro, pero no es sumergible. Todo esfuerzo que Edu y yo hicimos para devolverlo a la vida, desmontándolo pieza a pieza, los días siguiente fue en vano.

Bueno, ni que decir tiene que después de haber «ahogado» parte de mi material, seguimos haciendo fotos como pudimos!

Incidentes aparte, tenía súper claro lo que quería para esta foto. Mi mente se puso en modo blanco y negro de nuevo y sólo necesitaba a María sentada mostrándome lo mona que es. Tengo también una versión en color muy guay, pero me gusta más la de blanco y negro.

La edición fue muy fácil…  Sólo tuve que quitar de debajo del puente un par de focos  (NUNCA añado / quito nada a las fotos, pero eran HORRIBLES, creedme…). Después un blanco y negro molón, un poco de grano y foto terminada…

Así que para terminar por hoy, mandarle todo mi cariño y apoyo a María en estos momentos difíciles. Espero que al menos la foto te haga sonreir.

It always feels great to write about someone you really appreciate and that is today’s case. Sugarfairy is one of the super best friends that photography has given me, and it is always fantastic to meet her and, of course, to shoot her.

I am not sure I’ve already told you the way I met her, which was probably what built the strong link that join us, but I am not going to tell you the whole story in this post. Maybe someday.

I had the chance of shooting again my sweet tiny little diva at Dominatrix last month, and what can I say that you can’t see in the pics? Once again she looks SUGARLICIOUS, and not only in these pics but also in the ones that are coming.

Sugarfairy‘s shoot was absolutely crazy. We didn’t have much time and we had 2 beautiful latex outfits (and the sweetest model ever). And once again we had to work in an hotel, as we had previously happened in Essen in the beginning of this year. We tried to find a ‘more or less’ interesting spot and we shot against the clock, we barely had time to breath…

This time we counted on Marquis Magazine‘s official Make Up Artist, my sweet friend Angi Delrey, who was in charge of making Sugarfairy‘s beauty shine. No need to say she made it!. So dearest Angi, thanks a lot once again! Hope to see you soon.

The edition of the pics has been based especially on 2 things: fixing the typical things when someone shoots latex, and trying to find a nice appearance for the colors. The pictures looked too normal to me, since the location was too normak, so I tried to give the pics a different touch just by playing with the curves. These are the results.

That’s all folks… enjoy the weekend and Sugarweetie, we’re gonna rock even more next year. I know someone who is going to look even more amazing 🙂

Siempre sienta muy bien escribir acerca de alguien a quien realmente aprecias y ese es el caso de hoy. Sugarfairy es una de las mejores amigas que me ha brindado la fotografía, y siempre es fantástico poder verla y, naturalmente, hacerle fotos.

No estoy seguro de si os he contado como nos conocimos, probablemente eso es lo que haya creado un vínculo tan fuerte entre nosotros, pero no voy a contaros toda la historia hoy. Tal vez algún día.

Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar de nuevo con la diva pitufina el mes pasado en Dominatrix, y qué puedo deciros que no veáis en las fotos? Una vez más estaba DELICIOSA, y no solo en éstas, sino en las que están por venir.

La sesión con Sugarfairy fue una locura. Apenas teníamos tiempo y contábamos con dos conjuntos de latex brutales (y la modelo meas dulce, por supuesto!). Y otra vez teníamos que trabajar en un hotel, al igual que había sucedido en Essen a principios de año. Intentamos de localizar un lugar «más o menos» interesante y nos pusimos a trabajar contra el reloj. No tuvimos tiempo ni a respirar…

Esta vez contamos con la maqullladora oficial de la Marquis Magazine , mi dulce amiga Angi Delrey, que se encargó de hacer que la belleza de Sugarfairy brillase. Ni que decir hay que lo consiguió!. Así que queridísima Angi, muchas gracias de nuevo! Espero volver a verte pronto.

La edición de las imagenes está basada principálmente en 2 cosas: arreglar los típicos detalles de cuando se fotografía látex, y buscar un aspecto interesante para los colores. Las fotos me parecían demasiado normales puesto que la localización era de lo más normal, así que traté de darles un toque diferente jugando con las curvas. Estos son los resultados.

Esto es todo amigos… disfrutad del fin de semana y Sugarweetie, vamos a liarla todavía mucho más el año próximo. Sé de alguien que va a estar todavía más increible 🙂

I am working in one of my fav girls’ pics, but it’s been some time since I wanted to upload this picture… so today’s the day. It was shot during a break while I was shooting a girl, and I really liked the result. I instantly saw that moment  as a fetish image which highly required to be black & white.

I am not sure if I manage to create a really fetish pic, maybe you can judge by yourselves, but I think I am satisfied with the final result.

Who is the girl? Well, it is not really important at all for what I want to transmit, and probably she can’t even recognize herself… so let’s keep it secret, LOL!

No secrets at all for the edition: my typical black & white and some grain (that I love so much, LOL). Probably the fact of always editing the pics in the same way is something that remarks my own style… it could be!

Estoy trabajando en las fotos de una de mis chicas favoritas, pero hace ya algún tiempo que quiero subir esta foto… así que hoy es el día. Fue tomada durante una pausa de una sesión y me gustó el resultado. Al instante vi ese momento como una imagen fetish que pedía a gritos ser en blanco y negro.

No estoy seguro de si lo conseguí, tal vez lo podáis juzgar por vosotros mismos, pero creo que estoy satisfecho con el resultado final.

Quién es la chica? Bueno, no es especialmente relevante para lo que quiero transmitir y probablemente ni ella se reconozca… así que mantengámoslo en secreto,  ja ja ja!.

No hay secretos para la edición: mi balnco y negro típico y un poco de grano (que tanto me gusta, ja ja ja). Probablemente el hecho de editar las fotos siempre de la misma forma sea algo que remarca mi estilo… podría ser!

Probably some of you have already seen the black & white version of this picture that the lovely Onna Sakura has published… However I think the color version is also cool.

Once again, my extreme grattude to Onna for being so absolutely lovely… we’ll be a good team, I am afraid. This is just the beginning 😉
