I went to bed really happy and excited last night after having finished editing my last picture. I hadn’t experienced such a nice feeling in many many many months. It was like if somehow I had recovered the path which truly defines my photography, or at least, that have defined it in the past. It is not that I have lost my way, but somehow this new picture (and you’ll understand as soon as you see it) was like a coming back to my roots. And I definitely LOVE it…

And all, thanks to the super doll I introduced you not so long ago, the new perfect partner for my photography: Synesthesia. I can’t be any PROUDER of her. This was our first planned shoot together, and maybe we can forget our names, but we will NEVER forget that day.

We had been kindly invited to have fun at Lakeland Festival by our loved and adored Pussy Galore, but we couldn’t make it in the end because we couldn’t find any tickets… So plan B: I had a location I hadn’t used yet, because it was so fuuuuucking impressive, brutal, killer, amazing (call it what you want) that only could I shoot there someone who was GORGEOUS and SPECIAL at the same time. It was a matter of finding the right girl… and I guess I have never made a better decision than choosing my super doll. It’s curious how someone was asking in facebook for cool locations to shoot a couple of weeks ago. I remember I contacted that girl saying I had ‘a few’ good ones, but no reply from… Someone’s missed a good chance, even though I would have never told her this one, LOL!

Anyway, returning to the story… this super sweet model packed our stuff and I hit the road on Saturday morning, a crazy and funny roadtrip listening (and siiiiiiinging) all the hits she was playing… What an unforgettable trip, LOL! Oh yeah kickstart my heart, hope it never stooooooooooops… 🙂

We got to the location and soon we both understood that it was probably the most impressive place we had ever been. I have been to every type of amazing location, but I must admit barely do I get so impressed as in this one. We took or time to explore the place, which is super cool and huge, there are options there to be shooting at least for a week (or more!!!). But we both agreed immediately about the spot where we should start working…

The location highly demanded a ‘non facebook friendly’ photoshoot , so the gorgeous Synesthesia and I chose a stunning outfit which was basically aimed at showing how bright her pretty body can shine.

Too many things happened during the photo-shoot, apart from destroying part of my gear and other crazy incidents as it ALWAYS happens with me, but I am not going to tell them today. I’ll tell the whole and uncensored truth about this photo shoot the day one of these pics hit DEADLYWOOD (it will happen for sure!), because it was a day to remember forever and ever. But focusing my writing strictly in the work, it was very difficult for me to shoot there. I had everything: the BEST model, the BEST location, the BEST outfits and the more I shot, the more I felt something was not going on, or at least I was not getting the results I was expecting… and it was not her fault. Too much pressure. I must admit it was very frustrating sometimes to have all the ingredients to create an unforgettable picture, and to realize I was not seeing capable of doing it.

Also, I had to be permanent careful that such an amazing location didn’t devour my adored model… because the greatness of the place would be enough to eclipse her, and it was not the idea I had in mind, I didn’t want that… But I think I could handle that without any problem… All these pics are Synesthesia in a nice location, not a nice location and…where’s Synesthesia??

We were shooting for a while… different outfits, different spots, and we could be shooting today if we had food enough, lol. But we sadly had to put an end to our adventure.

The roadtrip back, not so funny as in the morning because we were really tired, because of the things that had happened, because of the part of my gear I had destroyed and especially because our fantastic adventure was coming to an end. Synesthesia was really curious about the pics, but I was terribly invaded by a sad feeling that I had sucked… in fact I didn’t dare to see the pics that day, I was truly afraid of the results.

The day after I had a date with her, so I could gain more time without seeing the pics, but this cuuuutie was soooo excited that I was finally forced to download them to my computer. To my surprise, I was very very amazed that most of them were really good (not exactly what I was seeing while I was shooting), but I still had my doubts about if they were really ok. So I looked for the spiritual help of the always lovely Mandy Catharina. I showed her al the stuff I had, and she liked it a lot… she had immediately a crush on the pics. That made me very happy, and gave me trust to show them to Synesthesia, who also loved them. Mission accomplished!!!

I edited the pic I post here yesterday…. It was kinda subexposed, but I managed to do some nice adjustments in Lightroom. Synesthesia didn’t need ANY type of edit / correction… I spent all my time adjusting every little colour in a proper way. Once I finished with the adjustments I noticed the pic was still lacking of something… so maybe because of the style, of the elements, of I don’t know why… I decided to combine my actual style of editing with the one I used to carry out a few years ago. Let’s go back to the textures world… LOL! I combined a couple of textures, corrected the overall colours in the pic (once agaaaain…) and voila: MAGIC!!! The final result reminded me a lot of the things I used to do in the past…

If I tell you a secret, I had always had in mind a black and white photoshoot for this location, I had it 999% clear… but since this cute doll shines too much and is such a colourful angel, I had to change the style of my editing a little bit, LOL! No colours have been harmed during this movie… Anyway, I am sure that black and white versions of the final pics will appear someday…

I was sooooo excited with the edited picture that I really felt the need of showing the pic to my sweet model, who absolutely loved it and uploaded it to her page in less than 5 minutes, LOL!!!

And to put an end to today’s testament, I can’t wait to continue editing more pics… we have stuff that it is really unique, so I guess you will see it very soon. But I wouldn’t like to finish without telling my cute super doll once again how proud, satisfied and happy I am of her work with me. We had a day we will NEVER forget, and this is just the beginning… because I’ve made the right decision by ‘adopting’ her.

I adoooooore you Super L!!!! Thanks for bringing the best of me back…

PS: 23 / 224… Why that title for this post??? Well, it will remain as a secret between Synesthesia and I, just like this unique location…

Ayer me fui para cama todo contento y excitado después de haber terminado de editar mi ultima foto. No había experimentado un sentimiento así desde hacia muchos muchos meses. Fue como si de algún modo hubiese reencontrado el camino que realmente define a mi fotografía, o al menos el que la ha definido en el pasado. No es que haya perdido mi camino, pero de alguna forma esta nueva foto (cuando la veáis lo comprenderéis) ha sido como volver a mis raíces. Y la verdad es que me ENCANTA…

Y todo, gracias a la súper muñeca que os presentaba hace poco, la nueva compañera ideal para mi fotografía: Synesthesia. No puedo estar más ORGULLOSO de ella. Ésta era nuestra primera sesión planeada juntos, y puede que olvidemos nuestros nombres, pero NUNCA olvidaremos este día.

Habíamos sido amablemente invitados por nuestra querida y adorada Pussy Galore a ir al Lakeland Festival, pero al final no fue posible porque no nos pudimos hacer con tickets… Así que plan B: Tenía una localización que todavía no había utilizado, porque era tan jodidamente alucinante, brutal, mortal, sorprendente (llamadla como queráis) que solo podría hacer fotos ahí a alguien que fuese realmente TREMENDA y ESPECIAL al mismo tiempo. Era cuestión de encontrar a la chica adecuada… y creo que nunca he tomado una decisión tan buena como escoger a mi súper nena. Es curioso como hace unas semanas en faceboook, una modelo preguntaba por buenas localizaciones. Recuerdo que le envié un mensaje para decirle que tenia “unas cuantas” muy buenas, pero ni me respondió… Alguien se ha perdido una buena ocasión, aunque nunca le hubiese dicho ésta, ja, ja, ja!

Es igual, volviendo a la historia… este súper amor de modelo y yo cogimos nuestras cosas y nos echamos a la carretera el sábado por la mañana, en un loco y divertido roadtrip, escuchando (y cantaaaaaaaando) todos los temazos que me ponía… Que viaje, ja, ja, ja!!!! Oh yeah kickstart my heart, hope it never stooooooooooops…

Llegamos al sitio y al momento entendimos los dos que era probablemente el lugar mas impresionante en el que habíamos estado. Y he ido a todo tipo de localizaciones, pero he de admitir que raramente me he quedado tan impresionado como en ésta. Nos tomamos nuestro tiempo para explorar el lugar, que mola mucho y es gigantesco, hay alternativas suficientes como para estar haciendo fotos ahí una semana seguida (o más!). Por los dos nos pusimos de acuerdo al momento en el lugar por donde teníamos que empezar…

La localización pedía desesperadamente una sesión «no apta para facebook”, así que la tremenda Synesthesia y yo nos pusimos a escoger el estilismo que básicamente apuntaba a mostrar cuanto puede brillar su cuerpo..

Además de cargarme parte de mi equipo, pasaron como SIEMPRE muchas otras cosas e incidentes durante la sesión, pero no me voy a poner a contarlos hoy. Dejaré la versión completa y sin censura para cuando una de estas fotos sea incluida en DEADLYWOOD (sucederá con toda seguridad!), porque fue un día para recordar siempre. Pero centrándome en la sesión en si, me resulto muy difícil hacer fotos allí. Lo tenia todo: la MEJOR modelo, la MEJOR localización, los MEJORES modelitos, y cuanto mas disparaba mas me daba cuenta de que no estaba funcionando, o que al menos no estaba obteniendo los resultados esperados.. y no era precisamente por su culpa. Demasiada presión. Debo admitir que era muy frustrante contar con todos los ingredientes para hacer una fotografía inolvidable, y darme cuenta de que no me veía capaz de hacerlo.

Aun encima, tenia que estar súper atento a que una localización tan fascinante no devorase a mi querida modelo… porque la grandeza del lugar seria suficiente para eclipsarla y no era la idea que tenia en mente, no quería eso… Pero creo que no tuve ningún problema para controlarlo… Todas estas fotos son Synesthesia en una buena localización, no una buena localización y… dónde está Synesthesia??.

Estuvimos haciendo fotos un buen rato… diferentes estilismos, diferentes emplazamientos y aun podríamos estar disparando hoy allí si tuviésemos la suficiente comida, ja, ja, ja. Pero con tristeza tuvimos que poner fin a nuestra.

EL viaje de vuelta ya no fue tan divertido como el de por la mañana porque estábamos súper cansados, por las cosas que habían sucedido, por lo que me había cargado de mi equipo y sobre todo porque nuestra súper aventura estaba llegando a su final. Synesthesia tenia mucha curiosidad por ver las fotos, pero yo estaba terriblemente invadido por un triste presentimiento de que había dado pena… de hecho, no me atreví a descargar las fotos ese día, tenia mucho miedo a los resultados.

El día siguiente tenía una cita con ella, así que me permitió tener mas tiempo para no ver las fotos, pero este encaaaaaaanto estaba tan ansiosa por ver el material que al final no me quedo otra que descargarlas. Par mi sorpresa, me quede muy muy sorprendido de que la gran mayoría eran muy buenas (no precisamente lo mismo que veía durante la sesión), pero como todavía tenia dudas acerca de si lo eran o no, decidí recurrir a la ayuda espiritual de la siempre amable Mandy Catharina. Le enseñé todo el material y le gusto un montón… se enamoró al momento de las fotos. Eso me puso muy feliz y me dio la suficiente confianza como para enseñárselas a Synesthesia, a quien también le encantaron. Misión cumplida!!!

Edité la foto que os muestro ayer… Estaba bastante subexpuesta, pero conseguí ajustarla bastante bien en Lightroom. Synesthesia no necesitó NINGÚN tipo de edición / corrección… empleé todo mi tiempo en ajustar cada color de una forma exacta. Una vez terminados esos ajustes notaba como si a la foto aun le faltase algo… así que tal vez por su estilo, los elementos o no se por que… decidí combinar mi modo de edición actual con el de hace unos años. Volvamos al mundo de las texturas… ja, ja, ja! Utilicé un par de ellas, corregí los colores globales (otra veeeeez…) y voila: MAGIA!!! El resultado final me recordó muchísimo a las cosas que hacia hace tiempo…

Si os cuento un secreto, para este sitio siempre había pensado en fotos en blanco y negro, lo tenia claro en un 999% … pero como esta monada brilla tanto y es una persona llena de color, tuve que cambiar ligeramente mi idea, ja, ja, ja! Ningún color ha sido dañado durante esta película… Pero estoy seguro de que van a aparecer versiones en blanco y negro algún día… no me cabe duda.!

Estaba tan excitado tras haber terminado con la foto que sentía la necesidad imperiosa de ensenársela a pitufina, quien se quedo súper enamorada y la subió a su pagina en menos de 5 minutos, ja, ja, ja.

Y para poner punto y final al testamento de hoy, me tarda seguir editando mas fotos… tenemos un material que es realmente único, así que veréis mas cosas muy pronto. Pero no me gustaría finalizar sin decirle a mu muñequita una vez mas de lo orgulloso, satisfecho y contento de su trabajo conmigo. Pasamos un día que NUNCA se nos olvidará, y esto no es más que el comienzo… porque he tomado la decisión correcta al «adoptarla».

Te adooooooooro Súper L!!!! Muchas gracias por haber vuelto a sacar lo mejor de mi…
